Have you conquered every enemy and collected every powerful item in Dark Souls? Well, sometime this winter, you'll have the opportunity to get repeatedly murdered by all-new merciless monsters regardless of which version you own.
Namco Bandai has announced that the new content included in the Dark Souls: Prepare to Die PC version of From Software's dark fantasy role-playing game will also be released for consoles. Sometime this winter in North America, the Artorias of the Abyss expansion content will be sold through Xbox Live for 1200 Microsoft Points and PlayStation Network for 14.99 USD.
Artorias of the Abyss adds more explorable areas, bosses and standard enemy types, non-player characters, armor and weapons into From Software's notoriously difficult experience. See the trailer below for a brief glimpse of some of the horrors that will soon invade the world of Dark Souls.
Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition for PC will be available on August 24 in North America for download through Steam and Games for Windows. Special retail versions of the Prepare to Die Edition will be available in Europe and Australia on August 24 for the PC version, and later this winter for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
So are you excited to get your virtual teeth smashed in over and over again, or have you had enough of Dark Souls' exhausting level of challenge?

Where's that dude who spent 300 hours in Dark Souls but claimed it was incomplete as the extra content going to PC wasn't available on console? I wonder if this makes him happy. Or will it be a complaint the content comes at the retail asking price on PC, whilst it's extra on console. Lol.

I'll get it if the new weapon/armour and other gear is any good. If none of the stuff is of use with my build then that'd be unfortunate but not surprising.
It's 2 new areas and you'd have to assume they will be similar to Painted World in that they would be cut off from the rest of the game with an access point somewhere random. If you factor in a bit of pvp then you could probably squeeze 8 hours out of 2 new areas, though thats a pretty optimistic estimate. $15 will no doubt = £10 over here. That's pretty fuckin expensive for what sounds like a small expansion
Shame we have to wait til winter. Long
