Beyond the limits of civilization lies an island, a lawless place ruled by piracy and human misery, where your only escapes are drugs or the muzzle of a gun. This is where you find yourself, trapped in a place that's forgotten right from wrong, a place that lives by the principles of violence. Discover the island's bloody secrets and take the fight to the enemy; improvise and use your environment to survive. Beware the beauty and mystery of this unexplored paradise and live to outwit its roster of ruthless, desperate characters.
You'll need more than luck to survive.
Gameplay
On June 6, 2011, Ubisoft showcased the demo gameplay of Far Cry 3 in its E3 2011 conference. It was revealed that the player has the ability to shoot enemies behind objects in crouch mode without moving his head up but with free hands. The demo also revealed an overhauled stealth mechanic as well as a possible leveling system based on experience points. The player will also have the ability to perform "takedown" abilities by performing melee attacks from above or in crouch mode. The game's narrative director, Jason Vandenberghe said that the story mode map will be around ten times larger than its previous installments, indicating that it is still an open world sandbox game in which player chooses when and how they want to complete missions.

Yup all Far Cry games have had a good amount of eye candy and this seems to be no exception.
I remember hearing during the conference that it's a true sandbox and exploration will be one of the major elements. So we can expect lots of content I guess! You see, madness, as you know, is like gravity. All it takes is a little push!

Finally got around to watching the Far Cry 3 footage, and wow this game looks awesome. This game has just been pushed into my anticipated list. It's coming out in September too, which is good because a lot of games have been pushed to 2013.
A beautiful open world filled with lush scenery? Options to play stealth or full on action? A story that actually seems interesting? Yes please!

The game better have hugely improved AI that only knows your last seen position, and can't see you through dense jungle & from a kilometer away. That is what it looked like from videos of FC2, where a rule: "once spotted, always spotted no matter where", seemed to apply way too often.
Almost everyone will say: buy console that has games that you want, and those who say otherwise are ignorant.

Playstation Move for the win!

and not have to go back for medicine for your malaria just as you get to your objective.
I do hope they have quite a few safe houses to find and stay at. I can't wait for this one, looking really good.

Fun little fact: The antagonist of Far Cry 3 is modeled after and voiced by Michael Mando, who had initially auditioned for a different role but didn't get it. However, Ubisoft liked his audition so much that they created and modeled the character of Vaas after him and his acting choices.

Seriously, the guy playing Vaas is doing an awesome job. Great voicework. The character has totally lost it. Sort of like Moriarty from the BBC Sherlock series or The Dark Knight Rises version of Joker.
Either way I was impressed by his performance. He looks exactly like his character in the game.

I think I will get it, Far Cry 2 was disappointing because of the stupid tablets you had to take every so often and not to mention the fucking annoying re-spawning of the enemies. It was a huge map but boring. Farcry 3 does look good but I will hold off for user reviews this time
