The mayor proposed a ban on soda drinks larger then 16oz. There also talks of also banning milkshakes and other unhealthy foods.

Somehow, this reminds of the movie Demolition Man.

Meh that's old news. It's a very dumb law because apparently adults can't choose for themselves but it doesn't affect me. I don't buy drinks that large and I'm not in the city too often.

Thats pretty much exactly what its turning into.
If a person wants to eat, and drink unhealthy until they bloat up and die, then that is there fucking right as an American./UPSET THE ESTABLISHED ORDER AND EVERYTHING BECOMES CHAOS\

This law is terrible and won't change anything as far as obesity is concerned. People are going to eat or drink how ever much they want.

If you really want to drink that much just buy 2 medium sized drinks! Dah dah.
Unless there gonna ban you from buying more then 1 drink, or possible the next law will force you to eat some vegetables before you can have your snacks.

Cute.
People are willing to ban unhealthy foods - not even ban it, per se - and yet the only thing the tobacco industry gets hit with is a surgeon general warning.Last edited by Blacksite; 06-14-2012 at 20:51.

Something similar happened at our school, too. They shut down the tuck shop and only started serving fruit bars instead of chocolate in the canteen. Then, of course, Jamie Oliver stepped in and ramped it up. Can you remember the kids mums meeting them at the school gates during lunch and selling them pies, chocolate, crisps, etc? Just another case of a world gone totally PC.

And so begins illegal food trading. We'll soon read about police finding and arresting two armed men smuggling grande size tacos over the border from Mexico.
What a world we live in xD

Why does the government think it needs to take care of us like that? I'm a little chunky myself, and I know it's completely my own fault (with other factors added in, but it's largely my responsibility), but I'm not blaming anyone else, nor to I think the government should be telling me what I can and can't eat. It's up to me to exert self-control, and whaddya know? Through my own free will, I'm not drinking soda and drinking milkshakes every day.

Maybe they should make gym memberships free and require people to go to the gym for so many hours out of the week.

I bet someone is getting sued. It's just like McDonald's, they got sued and had to get more healthy. It doesn't make a lot of sense to me, especially if there's a warning about. For example: WARNING this drug causes blood clotts and makes you love kittens. Person gets blood clott, sues drug company. The weird thing is, they WIN the case, and it makes absolutely no sense to me.

Meh, doesn't bother me too much. You can still get free refills if you want.
And yes you have the right to be a fat slob. But when you drive up the cost of healthcare for me.... I dont mind that the government makes it inconvenient for you to gorge yourself.
Get your ass to the gym fatties!!!!

I am stunned that some people appear to love their Playstation(1,2,3) or Xbox(360) more than I love the Denver Broncos.
Trust me, it's sad
