Thanks man for pasting the specs my iPad wouldn't copy them just the written parts.

This will be shown at e3 2013 along with the next Xbox. I see this being used for gaming on the go save your games on an SD card from the console and play it on the tablet.

Probably the Barnes & Noble tablet with Xbox Live streaming.

I think the confusion is with the specs being for two separate devices; one for a tablet and one for a stationary device (something like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zxk_WywMTzc).

    Fake.

What the hell kind of tablet will use a mechanical HDD, let alone one with a SCSI interface running at 10k rpm.

Microsoft has been working on this tech for a couple of years. Check out the videos on Youtbe "Microsoft Surface".

This actually reminds me of Nintendo's upcoming console, the Wii U, with talk of a tablet controller. It makes me wonder if Sony will utilize the same technology for the PlayStation 4.

I love the idea of having a screen in my controller,i wanted that for ages,i might get WiiU only for that. But i wish if SONY does it they put smaller screen,4-5 inches will do.

If it is it may mean the next Xbox won't have a optical drive and it appears the tablet may not have physical controls. I think it is more likely that it is just a new version of their surface product with Xbox Live capabilities. Microsoft seems to be planning to expand the Xbox label to many other products.

Everyone is also assuming that the tablet goes with the stationary device just because it is on the same sheet. This could also just be something someone put together based off of leaks, rumors, etc. I don't think this is part of the leaked documents(I haven't read them so I could be wrong).

It is indeed a new tablet device.

The Microsoft Big Announcement Speculation Game can finally come to an end, as the company announced a new tablet device called Microsoft Surface this afternoon during a Los Angeles press event. Microsoft calls it the "companion hardware innovation" for Windows 8, an OS that was designed to work on mobile devices specifically.

The Surface includes a kickstand built in to the device, as well as an optional cover that contains a touch-typing, super thin keyboard and a multitouch trackpad. Because the device runs a full version of Windows 8, it presumably will run any games that work on that OS, but we'll have to wait and see how those games play. We can also presume that the Surface will work right alongside any other Smart Glass features to be announced for the Xbox later on. We'll have more on Surface in the future, so stay tuned.

    i5 cpu
    128 GB SSD
    USB 3.0
Magnetic Cover with Built in Keyboard/Trackpad
    10.6" Full HD screen
    Full version of Windows 8

Haven't been this excited for a product in awhile.

for a gaming device i'm sure this will run SmartGlass as a 360 companion device
as well as run emulators which you can play with a dedicated usb controller.

The Dreamcast was the first to prove that it is actually a really cool concept. I loved being able to play little mini games on the Dreamcast VMU and unlock things later on in the full game. I was pretty surprised nobody else picked up on that trend till now.

This is a major plus if this can run PC games using keyboard and mouse or even a wired Xbox controller.
