The rest I haven't bolded are XBLA games, or at least most. I also know you heavily support the Xbox so this conversation will go no where.

Doesn't matter if it is XBLA or PSN.

I heavily support my PS3 and Xbox 360, so we can get anywhere. Not that it matters though. You said you couldn't think of one, I thought of plenty...though I didn't get them all. Shovelware is your opinion, not everyone shares your opinion. Fact is they are new IPs published by Microsoft.

    Enjoy.

I dont think digital games really count, considering the budgets are vastly smaller compared to retail AAA games.

I was just responding to the poster that they said they didn't think MS had any new IPs in the past year. He didn't specify that they had to be 8gb, on DVD, retail, $60, with no purple header, rated M type games.

I didn't know you heavily supported your PS3, Soldier =p. If memory serves me right, you said you only buy exclusives, half of which you don't seem intersted in?

Not that there's anything wrong with that of course

Whoever has the balls to publish The Unfinished Swan definitely takes risks.

Yup, love my PS3. I play all the PS3 exclusives on it. The only PS3 exclusive that I bought that I haven't enjoyed THAT much is GT5. Otherwise, I have enjoyed them all and I have bought most of them.

Short/small downloadable games don't carry the same risk as larger disc games of which Sony has brought us, Uncharted, Infamous, LittleBigPlanet, Resistance, Ratchet & Clank, God of War, Gran Turismo, Killzone, Demon's Souls, Heavy Rain, 3D Dot Heroes, Heavenly Sword, Haze, Lair, White Knight Chronicles, Warhawk/Starhawk, MAG, Motorstorm, Folklore.

The Bolded ones are all new IPs this gen. To which you can add Flower, Journey if you wanted to add PSN games.

Sure some of these bombed, but that proves the risk Sony is willing to take over MS and Nintendo.

Let me add that the time frame in question was "last 5 years". I didn't include any on the 360 before that, and I didn't list them all.

I find them all taking equal risks, IMO.

Their games aren't exactly 'safe' but they're not massive risks, either.

Well seeing as the general consensus is that Sony exclusives don't sell and they don't market them....then Sony is taking risks all the time.

They are all within the last 5 years, you could argue Resistance was just outside as it was released in 2006 in NA and JP, 2007 in EU, but the rest are all within the last 5 years.

i didn't say your list had any thing outside of 5 years. I was point out my list was only 5 of the 7 years of the Xbox. Not that it matters, I still provided evidence of new IP's published by MS Studios in the past 5 years.

Either way, great are both lists and I love most of the games.

no you don't and you don't have to try pulling the wool over peoples eyes that have been on these forums for a few years now.

at the same time I don't think MS took enough risks at all, Sony took a bit more in terms of some of their IPs but even at the same time Sony didn't take bunch of risks, just some. out of everyone that took risks I would say Nintendo in terms of a console and some games on that system were a risk for future successful IP's. the WiiU was a dumb risk to take and it's going to do no favors for Nintendo.
