http://www.computerandvideogames.com...hen-its-ready/Sony's assured that AWOL Team Ico project The Last Guardian "will ship". Although it adds the caveat, "when it's absolutely ready."

Speaking in an interview with Gamespot, PlayStation software development head Scott Rohde said of the missing-in-action PS3 exclusive:
"I will not give you a detailed update, but I will say one thing and it goes back to innovation and to gamers and to quality. That title is going to ship when it's absolutely ready."
Pushed for more info, he added: "It's going to ship at sometime, and it's going to ship when it's ready. And I think that's a really important thing to remember, is that it would be very easy to ship a game when it's not quite ready because we need to meet a business plan.
"Gamers are first, and the experiences we provide are first. And that's why we're gonna talk about that game when we're ready to talk about it."
Sony said this month Last Guardian skipped E3 because of "technical difficulties".

The Last Guardian isn't an RPG, actually. It's action-adventure.
Anyways, I'll probably lose all interest in the game if they don't show anything at this year's Tokyo Game Show. And that would be a shame because I really enjoyed Team Ico's last game, Shadow of the Colossus.Steam & PlayStation Network: BlacksitePSU | 3DS Friend Code: 1349-4916-2054

They're fucking up pretty bad over there in Japan.
Prepare for meltdowns if these next gen console rumors are true. Phase 1: Denial. Phase 2: Mask a lie under "opinion" vs a fact. Phase 3: Bring up the PS3/360 era when it has nothing to do with the subject. Phase 4: Say that the power gap doesn't matter but constantly defend the weaker specs.

May as well do what Bethesda does, release a game that's clearly unfinished then patch it 3 months later.

If the game will never see the light of day just say so. No sense beating around the bush with false hopes.

^ Indeed. Japanese developers have been struggling this gen as well. Its clear that Western games have been dominating the market for some time.
I'm sure if I ever see this game on shelves I'd buy it, but for now, I don't necessarily have any interest for it anymore.__________

I do not post here often (aside from tonight, lol) but anyone that knows me here knows that this game has been on the top of my most wanted list since it was even rumored, let alone revealed back in 09. Here are some concerns and positives:
Concern: Ueda is working on the game but literally left the team for a new job during production. I wonder how much of his heart is left in this game and how much influence he still has on it. I wonder this as Ueda and his top 2 men at TeamIco freely admit that, without Ueda standing firm, SotC would have had things like health packs and such. Imagine that game with.....health packs you had to collect during battles (uugghhh, no). Basically, the rest of the team wanted to go in a much more traditional game route and Ueda realized how that would take away from the experience.
Positive: Development could be taking so long BECAUSE Ueda is a known and delf professed perfectionist. Hopefully, he wants his last game at TeamIco to be 100% up to code and his vision!
Concern: Multiple devs from everywhere as far as the USA, UK and Canada along with local devs have been tossed in by Sony to help. This could mean a million different things and almost all point to BAD. Be it an inability to remove bugs, not run on the hardware at all (even at 30fps), having 100 different people all throwing their input into the game, etc. This also points to "either this works or it will be flat out cancelled", IMHO.
Positive: If worst case scenario is it gets released as a launch or early PS4 title, it is possible. Remember, they did this with Ico. Ico was originally a PS1 title and fully functional. Yet, they realized that the PS2 was almost here and its power would allow much more of their vision to come through so they essentially ported it over and updated the lighting, textures, motion, level and game size, etc. Basically, it is possible. The PS1 and PS2 couldnt have been more different in terms of hardware but it worked out and Ico is still a GORGEOUS looking and playing game to this day. Porting and updating the code/game for PS4 is something I would take above it never coming out at all.
Basically, I WANT this game so bad but don't want a gimped version. Only thing worse than no release is a release that is not even close to their previous work. They know what people expect from TeamIco. I'd rather never play it than it get released to terrible reviews due to bugs, bad gameplay, bad AI, etc.
