Left 4 Dead crossover adds backstory to Valve's zombie shooter.

A trailer for Payday: The Heist - No Mercy has just gone live.

No official announcement has been made as to exactly what it is, but it looks like a DLC map set in Mercy Hospital from Valve's first Left 4 Dead.

Developer Overkill Software tagged the YouTube video with the following text:

"Have you ever wondered how the Left 4 Dead series began? It started with a heist!"

Overkill announced last month that a collaboration with Valve was underway concerning a Left 4 Dead/Payday crossover, though didn't provide details at the time.

We'll update when some more concrete information comes through.

for some reason I saw this a few months ago and it really didn't interest me. I don't know the ideal of knocking off a bank doesn't sound like a good game story?

I have been using the red color font for years.

Yet I come over here, I get told by two moderators that you want me to use black. Okay let me just say how silly and juvenile it is that you have a rule about using a red font. The second thing is if your site provides the options to use a so called color font than why do you allow the options for other colors as well?

Now I don't mind that you have this rule but I don't necessary feel welcome when I have been a gamer for 30 years of my life and get told by a 21 year old that the color of my font is somewhat a no no on this forum. That does sounds asinine, don't you think Blacksite?

So give me a run down on what colors are available to use because I don't use default black on my text, if it bothers you or anyone than well I won't post on these forums!

The age should not matter. Would you not listen to your boss if your boss was a woman? What if she was a 21yr old woman? Red is used by the staff when we edit posts with warnings and such, how hard is it use black? That is pretty asinine if you ask me.

I could use red if I wanted to, yet I am still using black.. If it makes you feel better, I am 32 and I am asking you to use black. Problem solved!

Well, it seems like it doesn't matter now.

The Payday: The Heist - No Mercy level is not a Left 4 Dead prequel, Valve has insisted.

During E3 reports claimed Payday: The Heist's teased Left 4 Dead mash-up was a prequel to the co-op zombie kill 'em up.

But responding to the video, below, that leaked over the weekend, Valve confirmed this is not the case.

"This is a 100 per cent Overkill made mission for Payday: The Heist simply set in No Mercy hospital from the Left 4 Dead series," Valve's Chet Faliszek told Kotaku.

"It is not telling the origins of the Infection and is not canon. There is a little cameo from one of the L4D characters (the comic should give you a hint) and a fun little Easter Egg with a payoff later in Left 4 Dead.

"Just us having some fun with a studio we are friends with and who have also made a great co-op game."
