http://www.siliconera.com/2012/06/16...u-action-rpgs/As you may know, The Last Story director, Hironobu Sakaguchi, is currently working on iPhone games at his design studio, Mistwalker. His first major iPhone title is titled Party Wave—a surfing game that, he reported today via his Twitter, is nearly complete. In addition to Party Wave, Mistwalker are also currently working on two other iOS titles.
However, that isn’t all they’re working on. Earlier in the year, when we asked Mistwalker if they would continue to develop traditional console and portable games after The Last Story, they shared with us: “We are working on several projects. We appreciate your interest.” When we pressed to ask if those included console or portable games, they replied: “At this moment, the only thing I can say is that we are working on several projects.”
In a recent interview with Game Zone, The Last Story’s lead game designer, Takuya Matsumoto, shared a bit more about what Mistwalker would like to do, when asked about the possibility of more action-RPGs from the studio.
“The development team and Sakaguchi-san are looking forward to making more, especially for the Wii U because it has another [screen] right in front of you that will add another level of strategic elements into the action-RPG,” Matsumoto stated. “So we are really looking forward to it, but we haven’t really planned anything.”
The Last Story was funded and published by Nintendo, and is the second Mistwalker game to be published by them. Perhaps they’ll work with Mistwalker again in the near future? After all, Nintendo president, Satoru Iwata, did say the company was interested in partnering with third-parties for unique Wii U projects, and Nintendo have a habit of establishing long-term relationships with the studios they work with.

Someone said that Mistwalker is not in good terms with Sony and Microsoft pretty much dropped them after the poor performance in sales earlier this generation so don't expect their games to be released on PS3/Xbox360 anytime soon. If they create quality RPG's on the Wii U then I'll definitely pick them up.

It's a shame if they won't work on Sony platforms. From a business point of view they are missing out by not bringing a game to the PS3 install base.
Them being exclusive to WiiU just got me slightly more interested in it though

They make quality games and if they ever made an exclusive PS3 game then I can guarantee you that they will sell more units then any game they've worked on so far.
As for Sony not being in good terms with Sony, they're just not satisfied with the architecture of the hardware(Not sure about their opinions today compared to 07 but since nothing has happened between the two, I assume that they're still not interested).
