Error code 80010038 when backing up

Im trying to do a full system back up to an external HDD, but it gets about 3% through then says it can't be completed & gives error code 80010038.

I've tried going into safe mode & restored the file system & rebuilt the database, but that didn't work.

The systems is extremely slow, even scrolling through the XMB is difficult as it takes ages to think about it!

I think the HDD may be on it's way out, what do you guys think?

If you have any themes on your machine delete them before backing up.

I dunno what the problem was, but I ended up formatting the drive & all seems ok now.

All I can say is thank god for PS+! Cloud saves to the rescue!!
