I agree with the user that Deus Ex should be in the top 50 on that list. But what's even worse is that Rock Band 3 and Angry Birds somehow beat it. Also, how the hell does Asteroids make it into their top 5? Are you kidding me? It's like people just go with any old-school video game for the sake of it being old-school. No way in hell does it beat Half-Life, Goldeneye, and Metal Gear Solid. What a fucking joke of a list. Especially one for the top 100 video games of all time.

I'm sure they can also replace one of those games with Skies of Arcadia. I know most people probably never played it when it was released for the Sega Dreamcast and later ported to the Nintendo Gamecube, but it's easily one of the best - if not the best, in my opinion - RPGs I've ever played.

Hmm, no Gran Turismo, only one Final Fantasy game (FF VII in 33th) whereas Bioshock sits in 3rd? I'm pretty sure few people would consider Bioshock to be even the best game of our generation...

Going Commando is the R&C on there? That's my least favorite of the first 3.

MGS3 should be on there somewhere.

San Andreas and Vice City were both miles better than 4.

Would also say the first 2 Gods of War were better than 3. 3 was much more epic, but this is best all-around games.

Maybe they actually played those oldschool games when they were new 30 odd years ago.

Nothing wrong with Mario Bros at number 1. I think it was the FIRST EVER SIDE SCROLLER. No more playing on a single screen. Instead, the action unfolds as you walk forward. This was a decisive step in video games. I enjoyed Super Mario Bros 3 the most, but you have to look at when the game came out. When Super Mario Bros came out, it really did revolutionize gaming. Super Mario Bros 3 just expanded it a little. I remember having Mario Bros and Duck Hunt on the same cartridge. That's an AMAZING two-for-one.

Also, Mario Kart started another amazing genre of games. And I think that should be top 25.

Goldeneye was the first console game in the FPS genre. I played Doom and Wolfenstein 3D on the PC (I don't see Wolfenstein on the list), but I think Goldeneye was the first.

You definitely get higher ranked if you are the first of genre. I think Pong should actually be ranked higher. Anybody who had that game growing up, probably put just as many hours into that as you have put into whatever your favorite game is. I'm an 80's baby, so I would rank NES games right up there with anything that PS3 puts out. The graphics sucked and the controller hurt your hand, but I had just as much fun with my NES and their collection of games, as I'm having now with my current gen console. In fact, I may have had more fun then, because I was a kid and I wasn't so cynical and I was enjoying the games for what they were, and not comparing them to the last 100 games I played.

Horrible list from top to bottom lol. I have no problem with Super Mario Bros. coming in at #1 since it's one of my favorite games of all time but there are just so many games missing and so many games that don't deserve to make a 'best ever' list.

Your disappointed because A GAME THAT YOU HAVE NOT played is highly ranked? have you tube videos given you enough information to make a judgement?


How about you actually play some of the game before you judge them.

I tend to ignore these list and not get too involved, its all just subjective and many people will disagree with it as we all have different tastes and visions of what makes a game perfect.

Just to clarify on my previous post, I'm not saying that most of these games aren't good but you can certainly add some better titles instead of Angry Birds and Wii Sports, if you're going to narrow it down to the top 100 best video games.

That being said, I noticed Shenmue wasn't on the list. It's quite possibly the most ambitious title developed for the Sega Dreamcast. The game had a lot of cool features at the time, such as a day/night cycle, real-time variable weather effects (dubbed magic weather) and of course QTEs. Not to mention that it looked better than some PlayStation 2 games.

I'm not trolling, I'm just trying to get a consensus on what people think the best games are. I've heard a LOT of good things about Portal and Portal 2. And I've heard a few people remark that this might be their favorite game, but not a whole lot of people. Most people go with FF, or Resident Evil, or CoD, or GoW, or a myriad of other titles.
