Isn't the guy already working on a new IP? Project Ogre?
Apart from that, there's also Zone of the Enders 3 and Metal Gear Solid 5.Steam & PlayStation Network: BlacksitePSU | 3DS Friend Code: 1349-4916-2054

Project Ogre might in fact be something that Kojima is hiding behind the veil, but we're also focusing on Snake here. Should we move on form Metal Gear? He had announced the tech demo shown was created to throw people off of Metal Gear Solid 5.
We mentioned Zone of the Enders and Metal Gear Solid 5 as well, and we'd love to see what you guys think (here and in the comments section)!

That. I think Kojima needs to do what a lot of other developers need to do at this point. There are a lot of great franchises right now (see: Call of Duty, Metal Gear Solid, Killzone, Uncharted), and I think a majority of people would love to see more installments to those series in one way or another, but we also want to see these developers take their hands at something new and exciting.
Thankfully, I think everyone gets the idea. Guerilla Games is continuing their beloved Killzone series, while having recently announced their new IP. Naughty Dog will almost certainly make a new Uncharted title in the future, and is also working on the beautiful and highly anticipated The Last of Us, and Kojima seems to be flirting with the idea of a new IP in a couple of forms.
So is it time to say goodbye to Solid Snake? I don't think so. But I do think it's time to say hello to someone new, too. As Naughty Dog and other developers have shown us as of late, we don't have to say goodbye to one excellent franchise to say hello to another.SchaffinOSX

Well, as far as I know, every Metal Gear Solid game following Metal Gear Solid 2 was supposed to be "the last game in the series" so maybe that will finally be the case with Metal Gear Solid 5. As for Project Ogre, Hideo Kojima did say he was working on a new series of games earlier this month.

I think you are being very much short-sighted about this.(writer of article) Without money making franchises like COD, Madden, FIFA, RE, MGS, and so many more we wouldn't get the new IPs that we do. Money from these franchises are what keep these companies in the black and allow them to venture out to invest in new IPs. Seriously...if there is a demand for it then what is the problem?? Sure it might not be the cool new hip IP or get your web hits for your little articles but I assure you this game is good for gamers, good for Kojima (keeps them working in a recession), and good for Konami (can fund other IPs).
Would we all like to see what else they could do....sure but I am sure there are many millions of people that are happy to play the next edition in the series...me included.

More Snake is good, but would like to see some new stuff too. MGS Rising isn't going to set the world alight.

is snake even confirmed for MGS5???
why should he be killed even??
i wouldn't mind playing in the shoes of snakes protégé (who isn't a blonde ninja this time -.-)
the amazing stories one could write around that are innumerable.

Honestly if he can incorporate Snake into another story without making it on ridiculous terms I have no problem with it. Snake is one of my most favorite game characters of all time. If Snake has more "acceptable" story left in him I say go for it.

Snake needs to go. He should have died at the end of MGS4, the game would have had a much better ending with that.

That's a stupid question. How many of you think Link - Mario-Donky needs to go and Nintendo work on something different ? those games have been around for more than 20 years. It's good that he is working on other projects but he should never give up on Snake.

Guys guys guys, this is BIG BOSS we're talking about. This is in the 80's in Zanzibar, Africa. Remember how that was mentioned where Big Boss took his Outer Heaven country in the first MGS1. I think we might see the birth of Solid Snake, or maybe he's a teenager.

To me this is almost like saying "Why do TV/Movie Studios continue to roll out trilogies or spin offs or in tv having a show air the next season? We should have brand new tv shows and brand new movies and successful popular shows and movies should not be continued." People love the characters, stories, and genre. Fans love it and so they desire more of it. Give them what they want. If it gets boring or they don't do it due justice then it will get old or fans will stop supporting it. As long as the story fits the universe and they treat the characters with respect towards who they are and the game plays fun...few innovative ideas and so for then why would we not want another game.
