what are peoples opinions of Alienware as a laptop/pc company i hear alot of mixed reviews about them but would like to know what people on here generally think of them..... i personally don't see whats wrong with them after watching unboxing and video reviews on their models i quite like what they bring to the market.

I always wanted an alienware, but they seem to have massive markup. Far too expensive for me when you can put it together yourself with zero knowledge (just remember to partition your windows shit from your game shit like I forgot too.

Sager, MSI, Asus, Samsung... there's more, but those four are better options.

I used to just slag Alienware off at any chance i got until i saw my friends M14x and then I went out and bought my own

I wouldn't touch their desktops with a barge pole as i prefer to build my own for both the price and it's just fun building a machine yourself.
Laptops are a different matter though, after owning my Alienware laptop for 6 months i can safely say i love it and the build quality is nothing but amazing - i dropped my laptop from about 4-5 feet not too long ago and all the damage it made was a little crack on the chassis of the case what i am going to replace myself when i decide to sell it. The customer service is also fantastic as the bass speaker (the sound that the M14X makes is amazing - best laptop sound i've ever heard) blown on my laptop and i had it repaired within 2 days.
A lot of people will say AW are overrated but now after owning one i disagree. I know that when i buy my next gaming laptop - after i finish saving for my desktop upgrades - i'll be buying another Alienware.I Like Games.

I wouldn't say overrated, or not good system. I'd say over priced alone would be enough for me to not go there. My laptop vs an AW with the same specs is $600 different. No thanks.

If your talking labtops get a dell xps series. You can build one for way cheaper and same specs as a top rated alienware. I love my dell xps 17 laptop.
If you mean desktop I would look for someone local who builds pc. You can build one yourself and its literaly plug and play for most of the stuff.
Alienware is good. Just over priced. If you want to go for it do it.

I'd suggest, again, looking at Asus, Sager, Samsung, and MSI laptops before considering an Alienware laptop.

Alienware is so over priced it disgusts me. As many have said, look elsewhere. I personally have always liked my Gateway FX series.

I like the specs on them..but not the appearance, they look a bit tacky with all the lights and not very professional.
Trophy-licious!

Get an Alienware M14x especially since they now come with GT 650M GPUs which run all latest games at high setting with 60fps @720p.
The prices is like $1100 which is pretty reasonable for a laptop with those specs.

Now to get a complete desktop system you need to add a good moniter, speakers, mouse, keyboard and other accessories if you wish. Now add the portability of a laptop and it's pretty easy to make a conclusion which is the better buy over all.
I've been wanting to upgrade my old busted pc but I might aswell fork over an extra 100-200 bucks and get a laptop that I can easily take anywhere.
