Opinions on Spec Ops: The Line?!

I'm looking to pick up my copy of Spec Ops: The Line today as soon as I get time and I was wanting to know people's opinions on it before I actually get it, I have it pre-ordered, so I can pick it up at anytime I want to. But I want to see what others have to say about it before I actually use my money on it. So is it well worth the money?

I don't know why but I'm tempted to buy it yet at the same time I don't want to waste full retail price money on it if it turns out to be bad. I eagerly await your opinion!.

Okay, sounds good, I'll probably be waiting still then too! I'm kinda tempted to go buy it and then if it sucks well I'm out the 40 dollars I still need to buy it cuz I put down 20 on it, so yeah I'm gonna look around on a few sites and look up some vids then make my decision from that!

Sorry I couldn't play it right now, which I technically COULD, but I have to meet with some doctors from 1pm to 4:40pm (est). So I'm about to leave in ten minutes. Be back in several hours peeps. Impressions and game play videos due this evening!

One thing to keep in mind is the campaign is very short from the reviews I read. One said 4 hours, IGN's said 6. But IGN gave it an 8/10 if anyone is interested. There are multiple endings and different choice paths though so If it is good multiple playthroughs are warranted.

Yeah I've heard that too, but I've heard this game is gonna be like the CoD series, where it has a campaign but its also going to be maily about the multiplayer/online gameplay. Is that true if anyone knows?

This is just going by the reviews but they said multiplayer wasn't that engaging. I guess we will just have to play it to find out.

Guess so! Because I have read some good reviews about the MP and some bad ones, so looks like I'm gonna have to go get it and see how it is! Wish me luck!

I got the game, and wanted to let you guys know, its a pretty decent campaign game, excellent graphics, nice cover system, nice use of enviorment with the sand avalances and stuff. So far I like it, haven't played much of the campaign though but from what I have played, pretty nice!

I played the demo and loved it. Not to mention it was a decent length. I beat one part of it and thought it was over then they dished out another 15-20 minutes for me!

I have finished the game, and I will have to say it has a solid 8.5 out of 10 in my book, decent length story, and its full of different surprises! Loved the story, now just to play the multiplayer!

I recently played the game and what a surprise it was. The narrative is excellently executed and the Dubai setting is fantastic. I knew nothing of this game before, I immediately brushed it off.

Its a good game alright. She's a lot better than most other shooter games out there. Deffo give it a go.

I beat it and I must say it is a great game. Got the platinum, and I must say one of the hardest max difficulties out of any shooters I've ever played. But you also see some flaws in the game playing it on the highest difficulty. Overall it is a great game. Think I rated it 8/10.

this game is really horrible. The best part about this game is the story line. This is the first game i bought and sold back the same day. The MP is dull.

I posted my review in the "Rate The Last Game You Played" thread. I think it's a really good single-player game with a fresh approach to war games. CoD addicts/multiplayer-only types will be disappointed, but someone just looking to have fun and have their brain fucked with will enjoy it.
