Is my PS3 bricked?

Hey guys,

Trying to update my PS3 but getting stuck at 64% before it restarts and gets stuck at 64% again.. It's an endless loop. I have tried formatting the hard drive and loading the recovery menu to install the latest update from a USB storage device but I get the same problem and the same error code 8002F149.

The PS3 is about 2-3 years old so has no warranty - Any suggestions? Has anyone experienced this problem before?

Have you tried downloading through USB?

Yes, I had a similar problem a long time ago with my former 60 gb PS3.

I believe the problem had something to do with my internet speed or settings.

I would disable "media server" or whatever it's called. It made me have trouble with downloads in the past.
