Nuketown returns as Black Ops 2 pre-order bonus

A futuristic version of popular Call of Duty: Black Ops map Nuketown will be offered as a free bonus for customers who pre-order Black Ops II.

IGN reader Archie submitted a picture taken at Irish retailer Xtravision in which the map is shown to be called Nuketown 2025. According to the image, the map has been “re-imagined for the future.”

The image also calls Nuketown 2025 “the biggest incentive in Call of Duty history” and says it will be “driving pre-orders…and day one.” The map would be an update to the old-fashioned Nuketown made famous by Call of Duty: Black Ops, which the image describes as the game’s “most popular map.”

Details including specific stores offering the map and which platforms it will be available for are currently unknown. During E3, Microsoft confirmed that all Black Ops II downloadable content will hit Xbox 360 first, but it’s unclear if this pre-order bonus will be an exception. We’ve reached out to Activision to clarify and will update with any additional info we receive.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II is set to hit stores on November 13, 2012. When we last heard about Black Ops II pre-orders, Amazon noted that the game was tracking ahead of Modern Warfare 3 and the original Black Ops.

This map can be the most fun you can have or it can be the most frustrating experience. Kinda cool they're bringing it back.

I never lose a Gun Game on this map, I know the workings of it down to a tee.

I remember the time you could vote on the same map without limits. I once played on Nuketown ten times in a row!. Good map but I also agree that it can be frustrating.

Another map I would like to see also is, Firing Range!.

Yep I played like 3 solid hours of nuketown it was the bomb... When they took away repeated maps my interest in the game declined

Same, but it don't take long to get it down, which is why I love the map so much.

I remember me and pals play against veteran skilled bots on Nuketown and play a castle defense type game in one of the houses.

Anyone who had pre-ordered Black Ops 2 from ShopTo.net has had their order automatically upgraded for free to include this map.

If you haven't pre-ordered from them, they claim that the map is LIMITED. So best get pre-ordering soon.

Yeah, Firing Range would be cool, I preferred that to Nuketown. But this is still decent.

Hopefully firing range will be added into the game as a standard map with a futuristic spin on it. I always kind of liked nuketown but I couldn't get enough of Firing range. I loved most of the maps from Black Ops. Hope they are just as good this time around.

I personally would play a 24/7 Firing Range and Nuketown. Best two maps in Black Ops in my opinion for size and design.

Yeah I got my Highest KDR on Firing range went 36-2. Chopper gunner destroys on that map.

Black Ops + Demolition + Nuketown = Win

I really hope BO2 goes back to the Demolition style BO had, 'cause imo in MW3 it's not nearly as fun.

Hopefully they have this offer here too then I might pre-order, I got my highest killcount ever on Black Ops on Nuketown - the 3rd (overtime) round on Demolition.. good times..

Did anyone like Array and Grid? Those were my favorite lvls hopefully they bring them in too I'm also for firing range always get dogs on that lvl lol.
