http://www.computerandvideogames.com...-are-underway/The chief executive of the PlayStation business has insisted that the firm is pouring studio resources into projects for the acclaimed PS Vita handheld.
Following some complaints that Sony's E3 press conference featured little detail on PS Vita projects, Andrew House has told CVG that a healthy number of announcements are in the pipeline.
House, who was appointed SCE Group CEO one year ago tomorrow, said there were also many other services and apps that Vita will benefit from."We'll show [the new projects] when the time is right," he said in a new interview puiblished today.
"You can be assured that, whether it's first-party or third-party, there's a good raft of content in the works there," he added.
"I think at E3 we also showed that there's a commitment to broadening out network services other than games, whether it's YouTube or Hulu Plus, which aren't at the core of the PS Vita's offering, but provide additional convenience and fun," he said."If we were remiss on not spending enough time on the PS Vita at E3, I'll take that one under advisement, but you can rest assured it's not for the want of any sense of overall commitment," he said.
"We know that killer games are going to be what sells this device."
Elsewhere in the interview, House said that the profitable PlayStation division will help Sony as the entertainment empire fights to reverse a £3.6 billion annual loss.
"There's obviously a heightened sense of concern and urgency in the company, given the overall financial situation. I think amongst the management team, there is a feeling that a new team is in place. It's working extremely well together. I think Kaz [Hirai, former PlayStation executive and now Sony CEO] has been very clear about communicating that sense of urgency, and gone are the days when individual divisions' concerns would somehow overreach the major challenges of the organization overall," house said

1990s did have a sound. Unfortunately, it was probably '...Baby one more time' by Britney Spears.

if there are so many games on the horizon, let us know what you guys are cooking.
Guess there is no special Vita event this month, that sucks. I love my Vita but want to know what else is coming for it.

I think the Vita can be very successful, may not be looking so good at the moment but the PSP lasted 7 years, we've only just started on the Vita. Lots of good games to come and hopefully CoD will be like the console version as that would easily get people buying the Vita for zombie/online action. Plenty of time for the handhold to come down in price, not like Nintendo will beat Vitas graphics for quite some time (their next handhold probably be around the same power give or take in 5 years or something)
So plenty of time for the Vita to get a boost in sales.Last edited by XSpike; 06-29-2012 at 00:31.

I really enjoy my Vita and all I've really played retail-wise is Hot Shots Golf. By the time I'm done getting the trophies I'd like out of it, the new releases I really want will be coming out (Ragnarok, Persona, Assassins Creed).
