It's either because the replay value on games has gone way down or something is happening to my brain. Yesterday I tried playing through Mass Effect 3, going after my last trophy and also to see the new endings. For some reason it didn't feel the same, Mass Effect 2 was a different story though since I was able to play through that 3 times.
Could've also been bad chinese

I rarely do a playthrough unless I get a lot out of a game or it's really memorable. I'll play through any MGS game again. Fallout 3 because I have so many options and The Force Unleashed because I loved the feeling of being overpowered.

It's not you. The quality of games today are pure trash. I've lost almost my entire desire to game. It's sad really.

Yea.me too that's why I rarely bother trying it again to try to platinum and usually give up. Unless it's a classic game I like and I haven't played it for a while.

I kind of feel the same. Deus Ex: Human Revolution, for example, I loved playing through it the first time. On my second playthrough, I didn't get very far. In fact, I really just started a second playthrough because I wanted to catch up on some achievements (Steam version) that I missed before.
But I think the change you're experiencing now comes down to growing older in an ever-changing entertainment industry. Not to mention the fact that most games, mainly shooters, assume people can't solve basic puzzles or really think for themselves so they guide the player through their game.
Mass Effect 2 was pretty good, by the way. I haven't played much of the first game but I enjoyed the sequel and the intensity of the "suicide mission".Last edited by Blacksite; 06-29-2012 at 02:34.

I think for me its because I have this urge to play the thousand new games that came out. I feel like I'm playing something I have already experienced so I should be playing the other great games.

I think mines is more to do with me getting a little tired of this gen. I know there's still plenty of good games coming out but I just can't flush that want for a new console.

Blame the PS2. Once you've had such a masterpiece all other consoles and games are bound to seem lacking
if I am in the PS3 or 360 section I will NOT post about the competitor just to please people, if you want to know what I think about the competitor link me to a thread in the appropriate section

Been meaning to give Red Dead Redemption another go, but I've still got a few unfinished/unstarted titles left.
6 colossi left in Shadow of the Colossus, but the games been taking me months to beat. I've only had 2 or 3 decent sit downs with it. Usually when I start a game I have to finish it before playing anything else. Never taken me this long before.
And I still have R&C: A Crack in Time waiting to be played. One reason I've been waiting on that one though is I'd like to play Quest for Booty first. Is it okay if I skip it?

I mean trophies or not, its still hard to replay games once you have beaten them!

Ive never really had an urge to play through a game more than once. Even really awesome games it ruins it for me by playing through twice or three times. It was a great experience but now its done and i move on to the next game.

Games I've replayed this gen is God of War III, Final Fantasy XIII, and Resident Evil 5. There's something about God of War games that enables me to replay them and never get tired.
I do agree, this generation of gaming is different.Awww! Little baby bunny! <3

we need the rep button back. i would like to rep this.
games are real easy now. and alot of control is taken away from the player for the sake of the "cinematic" experience (in conjunction with the reasons above). im not saying that all games should be Demons Souls, but something like Valkyria Chronicles where the player is given tools in the beginning and then its up to the player how they employ them would be a good example.
Mass Effect 3 was utter garbage in this perspective, given its premise. the fact that i could only watch as TWO council specters got the beatdown was unacceptable.
