Well, I kind of needed the money for the plain ticket to come here to Austria. The naginata had to be sacrificed in order for me to leave a beautiful life behind to go to a new one with nothing lol. I don't regret it.

Vienna is often voted the best in the world for living standards. Here I have free health care, amazing public transport, development and culture. However, I'm not rich. Well, not financially at least. I was born in the first land, grew to adulthood in the 2nd then moved to the 3rd.

Ahh so you are English by blood, I always thought so because you speak it so fluently. I was born in Romania, moved to Canada in summer 1996. Lived here up till now. In comparison, Canada is better than Romania by standard of living and economy. We're also unfortunately part of the EU. They started a government initiative last year that has all state jobs salaries cut by 25%..all that goes to "tax" yeah right

^ Same, I'm really keen on learning Japanese. I'm very fascinated with their culture. I even bought one of those eyewitness travel books on Japan last year from the Vienna Airport

It's cool that your learning the disciplines. I do Sil Jeon Do. It's pretty much a fusion of Tae Kwon Do, Muay Thai Kick Boxing, Jiu Jutsu, Judo, Hapkido, Sirum and Sil Jeon Keum Do. Makes you well rounded on what works in real life rather then in theory

More like Muay Thai and Jiu-Jitsu in my opinion but hey, it's called mixed martial arts for a reason lol, everyone has their styles.

How do you define refinement? Do you have any idea of the amount of skill required to hit an apple sized target from 200 metres with an iron sighted rifle?

Allow me to put it in perspective. It's like shooting an arrow through a button hole on a shirt from 20 metres without damaging a single thread. It takes years or practice before you learn the fine muscle control, breathing control, and patience to achieve that kind of accuracy.

No need to get defensive, this isn't a big hobby cock contest, I just personally feel that traditional Japanese martial arts exhibit more grace and beauty as an art, which is why I practice them. It doesn't really matter, I'm all for the satisfaction and fulfillment that hobbys bring and if shooting brings you that then great!

Yep I'm proficient in that art as well. Its a popular discipline out here in Texas. lol
