PlayStation Plus and sub account

I do all of my gaming on my sub account. If I add enough money on my master account, can I use that money to buy a Plus subscription on my sub account? It works for dlc and games, so I'm wondering if the same goes for Plus. Thanks.

My PS+ is an EU account where as my main is a New Zealand account. Most games and DLC related to PS+ have worked fine on my main. However, the other benefits of PS+ like the cloud saving isn't usable on my main, and some things like avatars don't seem to transfer over. Not sure if that helps...
