All i really wish the PS3 had was backwards compatibility so i didn't have to plug my PS2 in to play the classics.

Cross game chat wouldn't hurt even though it's not essential to my gaming experience.

Cross game chat.. that is pretty much the only thing it needs to be on par with Xbox Live. (Yes I own both) Sadly Sony tried so hard but I believe it was Memory and OS limitations which stopped it.

At least it's in the Vita so we know it'll be in the PS4.

I would like to see some compatibility with instant messengers as well, allowing you to send messages back and forth to say, Google Talk. NOT essential, just something I wish it had.

Cross-game chat
A better UI (not sure if that counts as a feature)
Bluetooth connectivity with the iPhone (imagine using it as a keyboard, microphone, or just being able to play music from it on your PS3)

A decent, nice looking media player with the ability to play fkcing FLAC. Come on, why can't you update for a FREE god dam codec! It's in the name!!!!!!!!!!

I'm pretty happy with the PS3 as it is. I guess an IR remote instead of a Bluetooth one would be better.

Aside from that I'm good with it.

Another thing would be to add Cross Game Chat - so people can just shut the fuck up about it.

I'm at a loss as to why some seem to care what others say about other consoles. Does it really matter?

Thanks! I'm not sure how well I'm going to fit in here though. I'm detecting that there are some strong feelings towards certain consoles and it's a bit off-putting.

Don't really care - but gets a bit annoying that a lot pf PS3 gamers seem to think it the be all and end all "feature".

And of course it really doesn't matter.

Again, I wouldn't get too annoyed about an opinion that, according to you, many people apparently share.

If many people share a different opinion from myself, I look at myself as perhaps being the one that has the differing opinion.

The only few things are what most want and be able to play old games. but I would also like the possibility to remove games from my trophy list. I buy games and never finish them after playing for 10 minutes so I have random games which wont get complete on there and I just would like to tidy it up. I don't care about losing a few trophies but that would be my choice to do so. Even if they only made a feather like this for PS+ I'd be happy. Plus it works for games I borrow / lend of Lovefilm and friends/family.

I can't be bothered to log into a different account everytime just to test a game out before playing it on my main account.

It might be old, but I seem to remember there being a thread called "PSU's firmware want list" in fact, I used to have a link to it in my sig

Anyway, personally, I'd want the backup system described above, full ps2 bc, faster xmb loading (and game loading in general), folder creation, more codec compatability, the ability to read messages upon notification with the press of the ps button, smaller patch/update files or faster downloading and a better download list. That's about it.

* Streamline the updates system and get rid of the installing after download crap.

Ability to play blu-ray or another media at the same time as playing game on remote play..
Full quality video capture and/or streaming to remote device.
