The Nintendo section isn't going anywhere though. Same with the Xbox 360 section. Cuguy simply condensed that part of the forums.

As much as we would like allowing nudity/semi-nudity..

I've always thought that topless/nude pictures should be allowed, but nothing overly-sexual like actual porn. It's just the human body, after all.

the biggest problem with it is, if we offer nudity, we have to be classified as an 18+ site.

Then let it be done. Hell, some of the videos here contain graphic material (violence, language, sex) and the language used on here is adult anyway, may as well make it official. If you clearly state the site/forum is 18+ but children access it and see mature content, then thats the parents fault for not monitoring their children.

If I remember correctly, the site guys don't want to go for an 18+ classification because it would end with them losing advertising, money etc.

exactly. a lot of advertisers we deal with won't work with 18+sites

I think the 360 section should be back. I think I'm right in assuming the 360 sections activity is quite a bit higher than the PC/Nintendo sections so it would make sense, kind of. I get why you'd throw them all under one roof though, but personally I'd prefer the 360 section to just be there from an aesthetics point of view. Latest thread and all that.

The layout of the forum doesn't really bother me. I only use the New Posts button anyway.

The new forum layout is fine. If I need to go to the 360 section I just click on Microsoft. Simple. And if the aim is to make it clear that this is indeed a PS brand focused forum then this new layout is a step in the right direction imo. Besides, its not like the 360 section got scrapped or anything.

Pretty much this.

And since we're getting more news on the next-gen Xbox, I thought it would make sense that the Xbox 360 forum would eventually be changed to Microsoft. This also means that the admins don't have to worry about creating an entirely new section or a subforum within a subforum. o_O

When you rename a forum, such as the Xbox 360 forum to Microsoft, that changes every URL for that forum and their threads, right? If so, does that break a half million links?

I don't think so. I checked a couple previous reports and they all redirect to the appropriate thread in the Microsoft subforum.

Not the same as when PS3forums made the transition to PSU.

The urls will simply be sending you in the same place, regardless of where you put the subforum, or what it is named.

The only issue we would have is if Google was linking back to a thread and it was smoking popular. Renaming it could break the link and Google wouldn't point to it anymore.

In VBulletin, the posts and threads are given unique number identifiers, and that is how it is tracked. Title means nothing.
