Could be that PS4 will launch later than the next Xbox. Perhaps 2014 maybe even early 2015.

To maximize profits, it'll be on the market well into next gen, even beyond next gen like the PS2 is.

^- He did a very good job with them renders, It looks just how I pictured it from them shitty pictures. Overall it looks pretty nice, when everyone saw the PS3 Slim for the first time everyone thought it looked ugly (so did I) mainly cause the first pictures of the machine made the plastic look really really cheap. I do think this design looks better, apart from the grooves but when your only seeing the front of the machine it seems pretty good

This^^. Member by the name of MYE made it and posted it and it's been stolen by some websites posting it as the "real thing" the top is in fact a cleaned up shop job while he got lazy for the bottom and used the current slim base for it.

I think you guys are losing sight of the fact that there is a significant remodel imminent and that this opens the door for a cheaper and more marketable Playstation. Cute wood mockup, though. I thought it was blatantly obvious that the graphic I posted was a mockup considering it did not feature a power button.

Itll be announced next month at gamescom like the other Slim, last years PS3 price cut and the PSPE1000.

And personally I hope it looks the same as the current PS3 but as a rectangle and a flap open door.

There are other grainy but clear photos of the model number label and front and back photos that the render artist used for references. It sounds like these photos were leaked from the FCC test unit. A lot of cosmetic things can change from the FCC test unit to the final production unit. Gamescom is less than a month away.

It makes the door easier to slide and won't smudge. It's an ergonomic design choice, not aesthetic.

These mockups look ok but don't look slimmer to the current model to me. I am curious to see what Sony ends up going with. Does anyone want color options?? I would want Sliver or Red but I also love the Black too.

They can't make it that much slimmer, only small and lighter, unlike PS2, there's a HDD bay in there.
