    THIS!!

I dont have one, but a thread on reddit that asks for honest advice on what dentists actually recommend. This was top for nearly all replies.

We got our original Sonicare for free (left it up in PA, bought a replacement for FL), though the price is trivial for the improvements to your health/teeth, looks, etc.

Without question, when I use it regularly, my dentists visits for cleaning are easier, the pocket depths are _lower_ (as measured by the hygienist), etc.

Even a small, incremental improvement for $100 (for a brush that will probably last 3-5 years, and maybe need another $60 of heads), seems well worth it in the context of healthy teeth and gums, fresh breath, you know? Hell, people pay $70 on this board for a _game_

Dunno, I guess it depends on which electric ones you use. Those cheapo ones don't make much of an improvement, but my sonicare man. This thing is amazing. It's like a massage and cleanup for your mouth in one. It's euphoric.

There's so much scamming going on with the toothbrush market it's unbelievable, anyone who pays over 50 dollars for a toothbrush is a fool to me, no offence. I pay 10 euros MAX for a toothbrush and have never had a problem with my dental hygiene, not once. It's unbelievable how they sell so many toothbrushes with useless gimmicks that you don't even need, just fucking brush your teeth well, no need for those extra special screens and shit.

Seriously guys, BBK himself even said that a normal toothebrush can get the job done just as well, so why the huge boners over some overpriced shit that works just as well as their cheaper counterparts? Don't let the commercials and advertisements get to you guys! USE YOUR COMMON SENSE PEOPLE!

When I say just as well I mean for a basic level. You can't compare a manual toothbrush to a sonic one - sonic ones are clinically proven to reduce plaque.

Some people are content with buying a standard toothbrush - others aren't. Though I believe if you've just used a standard electronic one and not a sonic one you probably would have a point about them not being worth it.

I spend more money when I have a night out so the fact I know I'll have this brush for the next 3 years at least makes it worth it to me.

If something is a quality product I'll buy it. The whole argument that some of you are using why by X when Y works fine doesn't really work with me.

    Why buy a PS3 when I can buy a PS1
    Why buy a 120Hz monitor when I can use a 60Hz monitor.
Why buy that shirt for £20 when I can get one for £3
    Ect ect ect

Christ, the way your going on is as if I'm making you spend your money on my brush, Spyrde

If you're content with you brush then please continue to use it. I'm not trying to convince you my brush is better than yours

Lol na that didn't sell me on it, was reassuring to read after I bought it though (I'm weird and love reading reviews on things I already own ) I'll be honest though, it lights up red if your brushing too hard - that was one of the deciding factors haha

I undestand quality I stopped buying cheap tools long ago.
I have in the past mostly screwdrivers and they last only a few weeks or months at best until they bend the head snap or the handle comes off.

So what I got from this thread is that people like the feeling of something pulsating in and our and around of their mouth. Afterwards, which they have to spit?

Seriously, lol. Sounds like you have a personal grudge. But alright. It seems like you're unwilling to pony up a little extra money for a better start to your morning, and that's your thing. But if you're going to call out other people on it, you're going to need some hard proof on why we're wrong. Your standard brush will never feel as good as a Sonicare, and that's just fact. Ask anyone that's ever used it.

You can use your money however you want, just trying to give some friendly advice, I mean I don't see the point in paying huge amounts of money for something that can be done for 5 dollars. This is a forum, you asked for opinions and I gave one.

Many patients are now asking their dentists about these mechanical tools so much that the American Dental Association (ADA) has issued several news releases on the matter.
The organization says manual toothbrushes can be just as effective as powered ones. The key to preventing tooth decay, say experts, lies in the way a toothbrush -- electric or otherwise -- is used.
The studies you see in the commercials are mostly just marketing gimmicks, I bet that if you ask any dental hygienist you'll get the same answer that good teeth come from good cleaning, not the toothbrush. It's not the tools you use, it's how you use them. Seems a bit like you're trying to justify a purchase that really doesn't have that much logic behind it.

Also the argument you used about the whole ''quality product'' is flawed. It's not you buying a PS3 instead of a PS1, it's you paying 100 dollars more for a silver PS3 than a black PS3. You're pretty much buying the same product in a different package.

But anyways like I said, you can use your money any way you want, don't let me stop you lol. All I wanted was for you to think a little bit of your purchase. Didn't mean to sound mean if I did.

I have 4 toothbrushes. I've had my cheap one from Tesco's for YEARS, then I've had my Oral-B Electrical Toothbrush for 2 years, and then l just got braces, with a care kit, with another 2 toothbrushes - a portable electric one (which carries toothpaste inside), and another boring normal one... But out of all those toothbrushes, I use the cheap Tesco's one, that's years old the most surpirsingly.
