Report: Rocksteady's next Batman game to be a Silver Age-based prequel

Rocksteady's next game could be yet another Batman adventure, albeit in a new timeline, Variety reports. According to unnamed sources speaking with the film industry publication, Rocksteady's currently at work on a "new, highly stylized" Bats prequel game "that revolves around Batman's first meeting with the Joker."

This new game – not expected until 2014 at least – is supposedly set in the Silver Age of comics. Warner Bros. has yet to confirm the news, and Rocksteady hasn't said a peep about any new projects since Arkham City wrapped last year. And as far as we know, no one's discovered any hidden rooms in Arkham City that reveal future games. Hey, it wouldn't be the first time!

I'm interested but at the same time I'd prefer a sequel. If anyone did everything in a playthrough of AA, then you'll know that you had to collect audio tapes of the founder of the asylum. Amadeus Arkham was his name. I wonder if that could be the plot of the game. Then again, there's some major side quest plot holes in Arkham City that easily imply that there will be action happening in Gotham. If you've played the side quests for Hush and Azrael, you'd know they talk about the future. So I kinda want that more than a prequel.

I always imagined after playing arkham city it would of been better if they made one in the style of 1989 Michael Keaton

I'm feeling a bit of the same. Both Batman games were incredible, but I would love to see Rocksteady give some other superheros or villains some love as well. They've shown us all twice now that they have the competence to do it.

Would have rather had a Batman Beyond game but then again i dont like the Arkham games so no biggie.
