HD video on front page

This gen is all about HD, so when new trailers come along, it would be nice if they could be displayed in HDon the front page. The player that PSU uses is awful and the quality is really bad. Compare the new Borderlands 2 trailer on PSU with the vid on youtube at 720p. The PSU quality doesnt do any justice to the game and I usually go and find the vid on youtube. I would rather the vid just gets embedded from youtube over the current player to be honest.

Drop this in the feedback tab as a requested feature. I will try to find out why we are not hosting them in HD

doesn't it cost more money to stream HD videos?

unless the site is hosting them elsewhere...

From the content team :

We actually just upgraded to HD a few weeks ago, so the videos should be HD unless we couldn't get an HD version.

It should also be noted we can only host 720p

Hmmm, check the links in my OP. Watch the PSU Borderlands trailer then watch the youtube linked one, both in fullscreen. The difference is night and day (and the youtube one is 720p too).

Thanks for the note, guys. We do have HD video support now. Actually, this is the first time in our history (not using YouTube) that we have HD. That particular video I believe was uploaded in SD. I've uploaded it again in 720p HD. Check it out. This is as good as we can get it given the limitations of how big (size of file) we can upload per video. Let me know what you think, and if you feel this version is at least a bit better

This is how they should ALL look. The Borderlands 2 video was just posted using our old method. I've uploaded an HD version of the video. Thanks for keeping an eye on it!
