Can you spoiler tag quick summaries of Infinity Gauntlet and Thanos Imperitive for me please?
People have been telling me to read them but i just dont read comic anymore.

Here ya go

Infinity Gauntlet

At the start Thanos has already acquired the six Infinity Gems to make up the Infinity Gauntlet. He has always been obsessed with death, so he sets out to complete the task that Mistress Death (the entity that death takes form of) has given him, which is to erase exactly half of all sentient beings in the universe.

He does so with a flick of his fingers, half of the Avengers, X-men, the Fantastic Four and most other heroes disappear too. The remaining heroes left on Earth follow Adam Warlock in a battle against Thanos. Since it would be no effort on Thanos' part to defeat them, he gives them a slight chance of winning, to further impress Death. He then proceeds to defeat every other cosmic entity that you can think of, this includes the Celestials, Galactus, Titans, and lastly Eternity. Once he defeats Eternity, he takes it's place as the embodiment of the universe. Unbeknownst to him, this causes him to leave his current body, which in turn means he no longer is in possession of the Infinity Gauntlet.

The rest of the story isn't that interesting or important, but essentially Thanos' maimed and mindless granddaughter takes it from him and restores everything back to normal, including herself. This creates a short battle with everyone else again, and in the end Adam Warlock becomes in possession of the Gauntlet. Thanos who's thought to be dead, is found to be alive and kicking, working on a farm and is no longer treated as a threat. Sooner or later almost everyone that took part in the event forgets that it ever happened.

As for The Thanos Imperative, I wouldn't do a summary any justice, it's just overly complicated, and I've read it multiple times already lol =P

But here's the wiki summary anyway:

While the Guardians of the Galaxy watch over the newly resurrected[6] and imprisoned Thanos and Nova pursues the false Quasar, the Magus and the Universal Church of Truth tear open the Fault (opened at the end of the War of Kings[7] and previously sealed by Adam Warlock).[8][9] Monstrous creatures emerge from the Fault and are confronted by the Kree and Shi'ar armadas and numerous cosmic beings. Among them is their leader, Lord Mar Vell, who is an alternate version of Captain Marvel. Mar Vell kills the Magus for failing to locate Thanos.[10]

Mar Vell is the avatar of Life, and Thanos is the avatar of Death. Because of this, the battle will only be over when one of them kills the other. While Star-Lord leads the Guardians and Thanos into the Fault hoping to locate Lord Mar Vell, Lord Mar Vell scoures the Marvel Universe for Thanos. Nova leads Quasar, Beta Ray Bill, Gladiator, the Silver Surfer and Ronan the Accuser in an attack on Mar Vell, but loses badly. When Thanos kills Drax the destroyer, his death as the avatar of life alerts Mar Vell to his prescence and he returns to the cancerverse. [11]

When Mar Vell confronts Thanos and the Guardians, everyone is surprised when Thanos immediately surrenders.[12] As he willingly prepares to be sacrificed by Mar Vell, he muses about how the Captain Marvel he knew never considered the consequences of his actions, either. Mar Vell realizes he has been tricked just as Death, summoned by Thanos's death, arrives to claim him. This causes a chain reaction that kills Mar Vell's followers and triggers the collapse of the alternate universe and the Fault. Thanos, expecting Death to embrace him for his actions, becomes enraged when she once again spurns him. Teleporting the rest of their comrades to safety, Star Lord and Nova remain behind to contain Thanos by keeping him within the Cancerverse until its imminent destruction.[13]

A memorial service is held for those lost in the conflicts. Quasar informs Rocket Raccoon that without Nova, Worldmind has shut down and the Nova Force disappeared.[13] Still reeling from the struggle, the Kree Empire on Hala is assailed by the forces of Blastaar in a bid for easy conquest. During the battle, Ronan is aided by the other surviving members of Nova's strike force. Under Cosmo's guidance, they set up base in Knowhere. The newly-christened "Annihilators" are proposing they be a loose-knit force to be implemented only as the "last resort." Abruptly, Ikon of the Spaceknights materializes in their midst, proclaiming urgency in her errand and asking where to find "this team [she is] supposed to lead".[14]

I just ordered the first issues of Batgirl, I Vampire, Green Lantern: New Guardians, and Captain Marvel.

Tell me about it, sometimes it takes me weeks to months before i get around to reading them. Even though i have the time to pick them up every week =P

And the same goes for me, I'm a massive marvel fan, and when the new 52 came out, I took it as an opportunity to get started. This is why I can't wait until Marvel does the same later this year, I've only picked up Iron man and Spider-man up until recently. And this is another chance to dip into some new characters that I've never had the chance to read before

And Uncanny X-Force huh, I've heard of it, can't say I've ever read it though. Is it any good?

These are 3 new series that will be introduced in Marvel's upcoming soft reboot:

"Uncanny Avengers" by Rick Remender and John Cassaday starring a team composed of Captain America, Wolverine and others from the company's two powerhouse franchises battling the mutant-hating Red Skull.


"All New X-Men" by Brian Michael Bendis and Stuart Immonen realigning the mutant team in the wake of "AvX" as the original five X-Men are mysteriously brought to the present day. This title will launch in November.


"Avengers" by Jonathan Hickman and Jerome Opena, which is light on specific details aside from a roster of 18 heroes in a bi-weekly comic that seems to be Hickman-esque rethinking of the Avengers core mission in the vein of the writer's "Fantastic Four" run.

I may have to pick up all 3 of them just to see how they are haha

Thanos defeats Galactus?! Now I really have to read that!!!

So far, I'm currently reading some Batman comics. I've read Knightfall: Sword of Azrael and now I'm onto Vengeance of Bane. I basically wanna read all the story arcs that inspired TDKR. I have the Road to No Man's Land, No Man's Land and The Dark Knight Returns left to read. I'll take some pics of the actual comics I have in a bit. It's not much lol.

This new piece of news just got me hyped for the next Wolverine movie. It is somewhat spoilerish as it talks about the comics it is based on and only describes the opening scene.

My source has provided ComicBookMovie with the two new set photos and details about an explosive opening scene.


My source has explained that this model is of a Japanese prisoner of war camp during World War II. This is all part of the opening scene that will feature an atomic bomb exploding!

We saw a blurrier version of this model a few days ago (Link) alongside some concept that art that also appears to show a massive explosion from an atomic bomb.

This would indicate that The Wolverine will not only incorporate the Silver Samurai, but also another mutant villain, Lt. Ethan Warren. The character was featured in Brian K Vaughan's mini-series, Wolverine: Logan.

Lt. Ethan Warren - Was a POW with Wolverine in Japan during World War II. They teamed up to escape and found a Japanese woman in the woods. Warran wanted to kill her, but Logan threatens to kill him if he does. They part company and Logan spends time with the lady, finding she would not have harmed them. Warren reappears and shoots Logan, and tries to rape the woman. She grabs a sword and attacks him, but Warren manages to stab her with his bayonet. Logan recovers from his wound and attacks Warren. They each discover the other is a mutant, incapable of being killed. Then a plane drops a nuclear bomb on them.

In the present, Warren, now a flaming skeleton man, finds Wolverine in Japan and attacks him. After some fighting, Warren rips out Wolverine's heart and eats it, restoring his human appearance. Wolverine stands up and continues the fight, shocking Warren, who tries to kill Logan with searing energy blast. Logan is unfazed and advances. Warren begs for mercy, but Logan kills him, then passes out. - Marvel Wiki

Now here comes the fun bit of speculating. Will we see the mutated fiery version of Lt. Ethan Warren in the conclusion of The Wolverine or will that be held off for a sequel? Chime in below, and also take a look at a second set photo.

I haven't read the comics, but I have seen the animated series from the 90's on FOX Kids back in the day. I'll post the synopsis of the two-part episode:

A mutant named Bishop travels through time from 2055 AD to the present in order to stop a member of the X-Men from assassinating someone. When he comes to the present he can not remember who the assassin is. Later he turns to the X-Men for help. The episode ends on a cliffhanger ending where it's revealed that Gambit is the suspect.

As Bishop shoots Gambit, the X-Men stop him. Later they go to Washington, where the Brotherhood of Mutants plan to assassinate Senator Robert Kelly. Mystique poses as Gambit and tries to kill Kelly, but the real Gambit saves the Senator. Then Bishop goes back to his time. Later, when Professor X goes to see Senator Kelly, he finds that Magneto has kidnapped the Senator leading to another cliffhanger ending.

Are the comics like this? Or is it different all together? Someone fill me in if they've read the arc.

The line up on the team is pretty bad ass and were formed by Cyclops as a sort of black-ops X-Men unit that can kill. The line up changes in Uncanny X-Force which is a shame but any team with Wolverine & Deadpool is bound to be badass.

Marvel Teases New Creative Team Taking Over Iron Man

Marvel sure does love their teaser images. Today, the publisher sent out a new one to tease a new/old series coming down the pipe as part of the Marvel NOW! initiative. We’re going to go out on a limb and assume this is for the upcoming new Iron Man series. Agree?



It looks like the rumors of Kieron Gillen and Greg Land taking over Iron Man from Matt Fraction and Salvador Larroca are indeed true. That is, unless this teaser is a vicious prank on Marvel’s part. If it’s not, it’s probably safe to say Gillen and Land will be piloting the adventures of Tony Stark with a new #1 this November.

Gillen and Land definitely have their work cut out for them. Since 2008, Matt Fraction and Salvador Larroca have been creating some of the best long-form Iron Man stories ever published. They’ve broken Tony Stark down only to build him up again, as well as have introduced a plethora of great characters to Iron Man’s supporting cast. Essentially, INVINCIBLE IRON MAN under the leadership of Fraction and Larroca has been one of Marvel’s best titles on a consistent basis.

Therefore, it should be interesting to see what Gillen and Land have up their sleeve to try and justify starting a brand new Iron Man series from scratch.

Marvel Teases New Creative Team Taking Over THE MIGHTY THOR

Yesterday Marvel confirmed the new creative team taking over THE INVINCIBLE IRON MAN this November. That won't be the only major change we'll be seeing. There's been talk of the Marvel NOW! initiative. We've heard about the new series coming and there's going to be new directions and creative teams.

Today, Marvel has teased the new creative team for what we assume is THE MIGHTY THOR.



When it comes to being "worthy," we can't help but think of Thor. It isn't clear if the previous existing series for THE MIGHTY THOR and INVINCIBLE IRON MAN among others will all be ending in October and all relaunching with new #1s in November.

What's interesting is this title and INVINCIBLE IRON MAN were both written by Matt Fraction. He has the new HAWKEYE series beginning this week but we have to wonder where Marvel is going to put him now that he won't be writing these two series. There has been rumors about which titles he'll be taking over so we'll have to wait until we get a confirmation. Or at least until Marvel decides to tease what he'll be doing.

Marvel NOW!: HULK's New Creative Team Teased

So far we’ve had two creative team reveals for Marvel’s upcoming Marvel NOW! initiative -- Kieron Gillen and Greg Land taking over IRON MAN and Jason Aaron and Esad Ribic taking on THOR. But today’s teaser image might be the best of the bunch thus far.

It appears as though Mark Waid, the Eisner-winning writer for his work on DAREDEVIL, will be teaming with Leinel Yu for the new incredible indestructible HULK series. How can you not get excited for that?!

Mark Waid will be taking the reins of Hulk from Jason Aaron, who as we just mentioned will be moving over to THOR for one of his new gigs kicking off as part of Marvel NOW! Aaron's HULK started off strong but quickly lost steam. Hopefully, Waid can do for the Hulk what he did for Hell's Kitchen's favorite blind man.

We still have two days left to this week and, presumably, two more teasers to be shown, but the question remains: how can Waid and Yu on HULK be topped?

Deadpool

Deadpool’s New Creative Team Revealed?

Another day, another teaser image for Marvel NOW! Today’s image teases the upcoming creative team taking over Deadpool’s solo series (we assume). Because honestly, who else in the Marvel Universe loves chimichangas as much as Deadpool does?



What’s most interesting about this creative team switcheroo is that comedians Brian Posehn and Gerry Duggan will be taking over Deadpool from Daniel Way, who’s had a rather long stint on the character. Joining them will be Tony Moore on art, it appears. Posehn and Duggan are definitely interesting choices, but here’s hoping their comedy roots make DEADPOOL the go-to series for the funny.

So let us recap the teasers we’ve seen thus far: Kieron Gillen and Greg Land will be taking over IRON MAN. Jason Aaron and Esad Ribic will be helming THOR. Mark Waid and Leinil Yu will be handling HULK. And finally, as of today, Brian Posehn, Gerry Duggan and Tony Moore will be in control of DEADPOOL.

Marvel Teases New Creative Teams on CAPTAIN AMERICA, FANTASTIC FOUR & X-MEN: LEGACY

The first is from USA Today with the keyword being “family.” And no, it isn’t an Olive Garden advertisement.

This one's actually an easy one to decipher – Matt Fraction and Mark Bagley will be taking over the adventures of the Fantastic Four.



With Fraction moving on from both INVINCIBLE IRON MAN, which Kieron Gillen is taking over, and THE MIGHTY THOR, which Jason Aaron will be helming, it frees him up to write Marvel’s first family. As for Mark Bagley, his energetic and colorful art should fit in nicely with the overall tone of a book like this. It still remains to be seen if Bagley will continue working on Avengers Assemble with Brian Michael Bendis come November.

It’s also worth pointing out that Matt Fraction definitely has his work cut out for him on Fantastic Four. Jonathan Hickman is about to wrap up a four-year stint on Marvel’s first family that has spanned two series and reached all kinds of epic heights. Fraction better have something good hidden in the chamber if he wants to make an impression on Fantastic Four fans right out of the gate.

Marvel Teases New Creative Teams on CAPTAIN AMERICA, FANTASTIC FOUR & X-MEN: LEGACY

Next up: iFanboy has the exclusive on what appears to be the new Captain America creative team of Rick Remender and John Romita Jr.



However, this could be Marvel's way of throwing us a curveball. Maybe this is a teaser for a new Winter Soldier series. Or, maybe it's for Cable, who is also a soldier and was featured prominently on that original Marvel NOW! teaser image. For now, though, we're going to assume this is for El Capitan.

UPDATE: Brubaker mentioned on Twitter that these fellows are on CAP. Looks like Brubaker will still be on WINTER SOLDIER.

Exclusive: New 'Legacy' Title Teased For Marvel NOW!

After yesterday's revelation that Gerry Duggan, Brian Posehn, and Tony Moore were possibly opening a Mexican restaurant together, today's teaser for Marvel NOW! is a little more straight-forward... And a little more surprising.

The straight-forward part? Looks to us from the teaser sent over by Marvel that writer Simon Spurrier, who so far has only done some minis and one-shots for Marvel, is taking over "X-Men Legacy" with artist Tan Eng Huat. Unless, of course, they're writing a series about the Legacy Virus. Or continuing the events of the 1998 movie "Legacy," starring David Hasselhoff. Fingers crossed for the latter.



The surprising part is if this is, in fact, a continuation of "X-Men Legacy," a title that's always been critically regarded but never a gigantic hit. Placing the title as part of the Marvel NOW! first wave shows an enormous amount of confidence in whatever is coming next for the title from the Publisher. We're certainly curious to find out what that is, and of course stay tuned to MTV Geek for more info.

FF - Future Foundation

The Future of Marvel NOW! is Extended

One more has surfaced. You can bet this has us very very excited!



As for "Extended"? That's written by Fraction, too, with artist Mike Allred, who has only recently started doing more regular work for Marvel. If Fantastic Four is the Family, Extending it out likely means FF will be continuing after a Marvel NOW! relaunch, as well.

I'm super super excited! Can't wait for November!

I love Deadpool for the humor and breaking the 4th wall. Ryan Reynolds is perfect for it. Just not the way they made him in Wolverine Origins.
