Tbf my preorder list is chocka for this year I couldn't imagine Sony or MS fitting in there own titles With Hitman, RE6, Assassins Creed 3, Cod: blops 2, Most Wanted Dead or Alive 5, Tekken Tag 2 and more and thats Multiplats, plus I now have a Vita, I'm glad theres no more and Im sure you are too, I have Christmas presents to buy ya know lol Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 2

TO each their own. But I think he may have been joking. That old "I'd rather play than watch bla" does a a disservice to what MGS4 is. It's more than that, and to simplify it to just watching it shows no real appreciation of the series in a holistic sense. The same can easily be said of Halo 4 (again not knocking just showing an example) where people can be swayed to liking something due to hype.

Or maybe people are being swayed because they actually do like the game? Sorry if my opinion offends you but I just think MGS4 is an overrated and overhyped game. (and so is the whole series imo). And your Halo 4 comment doesn't change my opinion or make yours anymore valid than mine. We just have different tastes. You dont care for the Halo series and I dont care for the MGS series. No big deal. Certainly not worth being offended over. And it doesn't make either one a bad game. Just accept the fact that not everybody is going to like everything that you do and enjoy the games that you enjoy.

Eh sony has been better at the tail end of this gen in fostering new retail IPs than microsoft has. On the flipside I feel that microsoft has done better in terms of publishing a variety of different things, while sony as of late has focused on more arthouse style projects.

If anything, this year has been the year of the third party; especially with the games coming out in a couple of months time.

Forgot sports champions but I was counting exclusives from the first parties. If that's the case we can add steel battalion: heavy armor and The Witcher 2 on the xbox list.

Anyway Sony is going to have a a good amount of content next year. The only problem I see is some. Of the games being overlooked with the massive amount of games hitting early next year. Twisted metal ans starhawk didn't do that well in a pretty quiet time. That and I'm wondering how sony will space these games out.

Microsoft is probably prepping for next gen with opening more studios and their other already estbalsihed studios already working on next gen. I'm hoping microsoft takes a look at how it did earlier this gen and foster new IP and revive old ones. They own a few properties that with the right attention could be massive looking at current gaming trends.

This forum is Completely Divided on Single player games and Multi-player games. PS3 is for people who don't need to play online and can have a great time playing great SINGLE PLAYER games with amazing Graphics such as; GOD OF WAR, UNCHARTED, INFAMOUS and HEAVENLY SWORD. But if you want to play online and compete with people or just have fun there is; Little Big Planet, Motor Storm Apocalypse, Killzone, Resistance and soo many more... PS3 is just Soo much more superior the the XBOX 360 when is comes to Software.

talking about big hitters on both consoles for this gen, I personally think they both kind of sucked. Sure there were good games for both systems, but the hard hitting games didn't compare for me this gen, the previous consoles were more memorable. Hell, even the PC 5+ years ago had big game after big game. for me, both consoles kind of blew.

Here is why, you see the 4 same developers making games this whole time that were the big hitters, there wasn't variety at all, none. it was either artsy fartsy games that I personally don't give a shit about or it's single player games that I got sick of after the 2nd game in the series. Or it's rehash after rehash from previous consoles o.O This gen for both consoles kind of blew chunks.

So far the PC, PS3, Xbox360 were pretty mediocre for me. meh just saying, I've had better gaming years from other consoles rather then 360 ps3 and PC. almost like the ideas have fallen short a bit. nothing fresh is really happening, everything has gotten pretty bland.

Its a testemant to how many play those game online.

I completely agree, Xbox is more online orientated & is why we get Online thrown into everything theses days
though he is right in my case, as far as I'm concerned the single player aspect is the most important part in a game, I feel almost ripped off when theres hardly any content in the SP side( COD)
as far software being better? that down to the developers not the console, but Sony does have dat first party

Yep exactly. KZ3 online community died to the point where Sony made the mp portion a free download (not surprising since I've read lots of complaints from the KZ fans about the lack of online activity), Resistance no longer exists and Motorstorm Apocolypse online is just broken and it sold horribly (even though I like the sp of MS Apocolypse). That is documented fact not opinion. Halo and Gears for example have both awesome sp as well as awesome mp. And lets face it mp is what gives a game legs and keeps people playing. And so does DLC support which is another area where 360 exclusives beat out PS3 exclusives.
