I'm pretty sure, unless he was being sarcastic, that Mr Dark wasn't implying the 360 has NO exclusives . Probably more along the lines of "is light on"...The "better" exclusives this holiday sentiment might be wondering close to Subjectiveville, as with everything else we talk about here, unless you are referring to sales or review scores. I've been with PlayStation since the beginning and a brawler celebrating all the characters I met along the way is a better game than another installment of an staple FPS. I agree that today's game journalism scene is filled with a lot of BS, but there is also a lot of good content being provided by select companies. I follow gametrailers.com mostly, it is a very professional site and has a lot of integrity imho. Geoff Keighley is a very respectable face for the site and I feel that the other content providers have a good grasp on the industry. It's one of those things I mentioned in PM, part of the ongoing paper, scissors, rock type situations that console have regarding their strengths and weaknesses. Anyway, who gives a fuck? lol I don't really care, I'm gonna go make a coffee, have a smoke and play some games.

Yeah I'm a big FPS and racing game addict so the 360 had the better exclusives this holiday for me. I've been with Playstation since the beginning as well but a super mario smash brothers clone and LBP Kart racing just doesn't stack up to Halo 4 and Forza Horizon imo. But PS3 is getting off to a good start next year with TLOU and GoW Ascension. TLOU,Gow, and Gears Judgement will keep me busy.

Sony has a 50/50 market share with MS in the HD console arena. The fact that Sony went from a dominant position last gen to an equal one marks a complete failure on Sony's account.

while its not a complete failure, it does show how far they have fell from the heady heights of PS1/PS2 to hit 50/50 market share.

You make a good point, MS has done well to equal the ground but it is highly possible PS3 would have dominated even with Wii sales and its high price in America at launch

Well said. I enjoy both consoles for what they each give me and at the end of the day thats all that matters. I've had some awesome gaming experiences on both consoles.

Well Mr Yung, imho there is a 50/50 market share because MS stepped up, not because Sony stepped down. To say that the equal share is because Sony fell from great heights belittles the awesome performance of MS this gen which earned them that equal share from where it was last gen. it doesn't belittle MS at all, it actually shows how fantastically MS have done to take market share away from Sony when MS have had the most unreliable console ever, they charge for online and have what is considered by some to be the weaker exclusives.

Luckily the numbers are very successful numbers, more so for MS
But there is no denying Sony has fallen quarter way from last gen sales
But I guess it kinda hard to call 70mill+ console a failure regardless of its predecessor
To Sony its a failure or a disappointment
But market wise all 3 consoles have been very successful
At least Sony didn't fall as hard as Nintendo did
I think the only real difference is MS & Nintendo are actually competing with Sony now compared to them not having a chance

Sony said it is taking steps to avoid the widespread shortages consumers faced last holiday with the Xbox 360. The company plans to ship 2 million PlayStation 3s at launch and plans to ship another 2 million before the end of 2006. Kaz Hirai, president and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America, said the company also plans to ship an additional 2 million units in the first quarter of 2007.

"The next generation doesn't start until we say it does," said Hirai.
