Not sure what your point is, there are always sequals to good games. Doesnt matter how you spin it, if you played the fuck out of GT5....what do you do next?
1/ Yes been proven, but it is free so it may suit you.
2/ No one said that, but it doesnt really have any more varity than the competition
3/ Some of its exclusives can be beaten by other games at their err own game...Motrostorm vs Pure, MAG vs anything.....not all, and those are the ones that do count
4/ The controller is what it is, and thats preference thing.
5/ It is hardly a console for a family, it's perhap sthe most disspaointgn aspect fo Sony this gen. It's less about what they have done, and more about what MS has done in this regard, from Family live memberships, family timers, the family website ( I can track and look at everything my son has done on the Xbox, inclduing hours per week, per day, per month), through to Kinect, and the emphasis on young kids (Once upon a monster, Kinect Disney)
6/ Dont know, depends what your friends have I guess..again thats up to you..also the games you want to play. At the end of the day if PS3 exclusives such as MAG die out..well..you cant blame the Xbox crowd....

Wasnt trying to "spin" anything. I own a 360 remember? You should remember since I'm on your Xbox Live friend list. So dont act so defensive. Secondly I was merely trying to get you to clarify whether it was the number of racing IPs or the number of actual games literally that was all. I have my answer now. Thanks.

Many people say that. Xbox 360 has the largest library of exclusives this gen, with the largest variety.
Sony is focused on making the Playstation a casual console this holiday actually. They realized it needs to make money.5/ It is hardly a console for a family, it's perhap sthe most disspaointgn aspect fo Sony this gen. It's less about what they have done, and more about what MS has done in this regard, form Family live memberships, family timers, the family website ( I can track and look at everythign my son has done on the Xbox, inclduing hours pe rweek, per day, per month), through to Kinect, and the emphasis on young kids (Once upon a monster, Kinect Disney)

Casualstation confirmed."We’d love to have multi-million sellers for the holiday. But each title needs time to develop, especially new IP like The Last of Us. God of War has always come out in March, so that’s a natural time to aim at. Our strategy for Christmas is to go big on family-friendly titles. This is a neglected genre for the PlayStation 3, but as it matures, I think it’s really important to have these games on the platform. I think we have a great lineup this holiday to complement third parties’ big core games."
Back to exclusives and racers. One of the BEST racing games this generation (IMO), behind Forza and GT5, is RacePro. AMAZINGLY great sim racing game from Simbin. It too is also exclusive to Xbox.

There's a difference between casual trash and games like Sly Cooper, LBP Karting and Ratchet & Clank, which what I believe they're referring to, the only casual games they have that doesn't appeal to gamers this year is Sports Champions 2 and Wonderbook.
Remember in the days of the PS1 and PS2 when the best games were platformers: Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Jak & Daxter, Croc, etc. - pretty much proved that games don't need an M rating or GUNZ to be amazing or sell over 6 million, Mario is still proving that point today.

R&C, Sly, LBP Karting fall under the same roof as move/dance/singstar games?

I'm unsure what your point is here.
Because a game doesnt appeal to you, but apeals to a 6 year sold it is now casual trash?
And then you refer to games that appealed to 12 years olds as not casual trash.
Sony want family freindlygames.
They dont need to be "casual trash" to appeal to a 6 y-12 year olds. They just need to appeal to the senseabilties of the parents buying it.
Doesnt involve guns
Doesnt involve graphic depiction of viloence
Doesnt involve adult themes or language...
Easy for kids to play...
Thats the only criteria for a game to apeal to "family" buyers.
And they are casual, they dont game 24/7 their kids dont game 24/7, but they still want the kids to have fun.
A game can be a casual focused game and still appeal to hardcore gamers.

Hard to say what a casual gamer is, or conversely, what a "hardcore" gamer is.
For me for example, I consider myself more on the "casual" side, yet I play "core" games like God of War, Uncharted, Alan Wake, Total War series, etc etc etc.
The only reason is that I tend to split time between dozens of games at a time instead of being "hardcore" and spending weeks/months on one game and getting 100% or something.
Hence my backlog...

I think the words get very confused, hardcore gamer vs casual gamer to me really means time spent gaming.
Others have decided that it means a game should appeal to hardcore gamers vs a game that does not appeal to them.
Which is funny because no 2 people think alike.
But as you point out, a casual gamer can be attracted to what many people consider hardcore games, play them on a casual basis and have fun.
Now when you get into family gaming, I really think its more about the tone of the content rather than the content itself.
A game like cut the rope is most definatley a casual game, but its definatley not a family game.

Casual game = party games (SingStar/DanceStar/WonderBook), that's not to say I don't enjoy casual games (just not THOSE games), but I wouldn't throw any old platformer into the same boat just because it has a E/3+ rating on it. I consider myself a core gamer, but will be playing LBP Karting (semi casual) and Sports Champions 2 (casual) on PS3. So because Sony is starting to bring back platform games aimed at children from the PS1/2 days, doesn't =
The thing that people seem to forget is that Sony has a LOT of studios making all types of games for many types of people. So when a new SingStar gets announced and we hear something a long the lines of
"lolol Sony going casual like the Wii" or "They should have made something more worthwhile"
Yet SingStar is made by London Studio, who has pretty much been doing these games since early PS2 days, its not "Sony following the casual trend" (since they've been offering these games long before the Wii/Kinect), its just one of their studios continuing a series they've been making for the past 10 years. Just because 1 or 2 studios is making casual games and 1 or 2 are making childrens platformers, doesn't mean the likes of Sony Santa Monica suddenly making a sequel to the Barbie NES platformer. Not to mention R&C and Sly 4 are being made by non first party developers anyway.
Unless its Mario, then a platformer nowadays isn't gonna see massive sales, which is why I'm glad that Sony are still investing in these platformer IPs, they just need to bring Jak to PS3. They could very easily say "ah fuck those games let's just bring shooter #138339423".

I understand your comment about MAG but Pure beating Motorstorm at its own game? Dont make me laugh. Motorstorm pisses all over Pure and I've played both. No comparison at all. Comparing Pure to Motorstorm is like comparing a squirt gun to .357 Magnum. And I'm talking about as a game not sales numbers. And besides weren't you the one who told me this topic was about exclusives when I brought up 3rd party games? Or is that only when its convienent to your argument? Practice what you preach there mynd. lol
