Hideo Kojima’s mysterious Project Ogre may actually be none other than Metal Gear Solid 5.
That’s at least according to a leaked snapshot of the game from Comic-Con over the weekend, which displays the MGS5 logo accompanied by the words ‘Open Ground Reconnaissance Endeavors’ – or OGRE for short.
While nothing has been confirmed, it’s certainly looking likely that Project Ogre may in fact be the codename for the new Metal Gear Solid title.
Whatever the case, Kojima-san certainly got tongues wagging at Comic-Con, with Epic Games’ Cliff Bleszinski tweeting over the weekend:
“Just got pulled into a back room at Comic-Con by @HIDEO_KOJIMA_EN and showed some crazy new secret stuff. Wow.”
That’s not all however. The logo for ‘Diamond Dogs’ was also shown, which for those who are scratching their heads was previously shown off as part of some new Big Boss artwork Konami posted in relation to a recruitment drive for ‘the next MGS.’
Despite this, Kojima-san himself has yet to officially announce the game, though has strongly hinted that it’s coming.
Project Ogre itself is believed to be an open-world title allowing players to freely explore massive environments.
Stay tuned to PSU.com for more details as they break.

Thanks for posting this here Mike.
Well, some people have had enough of MGS, I haven't! Open Ground Reconnaissance Endeavors sounds great to me. The thought of Snake/Big Boss in an open world environment is interesting and is kind of the next logical step for the series. I guess this may be linked to those images that surfaced some time ago. it's all very interesting, MGS5, Diamon Dogs...Come on TGS!

I love the MGS series...with all my heart. I buy every MGS game and despite my better judgement I'm going to purchaser MGS:R..But I think if Kojima is going to revisit the MGS universe...he should remake Metal Gear 1 and Metal Gear 2. So many fans missed out on those titles and to see them properly envisioned in 3D would be amazing and I would find myself more excited for the next MGS entry.
Thank You Shaq...For Everything

You may want to update the article.
SourceAfter (irresponsibly) tweeting ambiguous notes like, "Fake or real, we love a bit of speculation! #ogre #mgs5," Konami's UK account directly clarified that, "Seriously, just in case the #pinch #salt hashtags weren't enough - the chap who claims to have set up the fake rumours has been in touch," as spotted by Kotaku's Jason Schreier.Steam & PlayStation Network: BlacksitePSU | 3DS Friend Code: 1349-4916-2054

Someone should make a picture of Kojima chained to a prison ball named Metal Gear.Man who chase after bus get exhausted, man who run in front of bus get tired

There's also this:
via Andriasang.Hideo Kojima has been talking up his mysterious "Project Ogre" at Twitter for the past year. In Japanese, he refers to the project as "Oni Project." Today, he clarified what the "Oni" means.
There have been a few theories of what the Oni might mean. Perhaps this is such a big project that it's devilish or demonic. Or perhaps it's a game that requires Kojima to close off his heart as he makes it (this is from a proverb involving Oni, I believe).
These two are both incorrect, said Kojima at Twitter today. The meaning is more literal. Oni Project is a game that deals with Oni in some capacity.
Oni can be translated to a variety of things, including demon, devil, and, of course, ogre. Based off Kojima's Tweets, it's unclear if he's saying that the game deals with Oni as a subject matter, or if it's the player who handles Oni in some form (collecting spirits and so-forth).
I don't doubt that we'll see another Metal Gear Solid title from Hideo Kojima. But it doesn't necessarily have anything to do with Project Ogre.Last edited by Blacksite; 07-19-2012 at 06:19.

I suppose if they make enough Final Fantasy games we can have pleasure of playing Metal Gear Solid 5.
