Will YOU miss the PS3? And Ranking Sony Consoles

When the PS4 is released and you get one, will you miss the PS3? In other words, will you look back on the PS3 and say, "Wow, that was a great console." Or will you say, "Good riddance!"

If you had to rank Sony consoles from lowest to greatest, how would you rank the PS1, PS2, and PS3?

I will without a doubt miss my PS3, despite the fact it once weighed 8 lbs. It had ups and downs, but I do believe it's worthy of the PlayStation name.

As for ranking the PS consoles:
1. PlayStation 1
2. PlayStation 2
3. PlayStation 3

It was hard deciding between PS1 and PS2, but PS1 gets the cigar.

I won't have to think about this for a while. I haven't even had my PS3 a year yet. I doubt I'm gonna get the PS4 at launch, but we'll see lol.

It may be nostalgia, but there were so many great games back in the day. And while there are great games now, they don't compare overall to what there was back then.

I had a N64 and didnt want to play PS1 but i give it its respect. PS2 was the first playstation console i owned and it got me thru college so i have a bond with it so much i keep it in my closet in the man room LOL

I think i would miss my PS3. A lot of good times on it but hopefully the PS4 will take away all my attention.

I won't miss it because I'll still have it for use if need be. Ranking? Without actually using anything other than PSP, PS3 and Vita, I'd use the history of these and the PS1 to value them. The PS2 doesn't seem to have "competition" in regards to ranking the Sony consoles. Features, price, longevity, amazing games.... It's #1!

With the likes of Guild Wars 2 and probably Diablo 3 coming to PS3, as well as Dust 514, my PS3 and it's successor should it ever die on me, will be used along side my PS4 (when I get one). I intend on capitalising on Sony's minimum 10 year life cycle for this product.

Yeah I'm definitely gonna miss my PS3. It has this charm as soon as I switch it on - that little orchestrated intro.. ahh.

As far as ranking goes, that is SO difficult for me personally..

I still buy and play PS1 games.. Chances are I'll be doing the same in 15 years time with PS3 games I missed out on. So no, I'll probably never miss if because it's not going anywhere

When you take a lot of the things Sony promised back in 2005/2006 into account, the PlayStation 3 really didn't live up to the hype. 1080p gaming at 60 frames per second, 7 controllers, being able to play on two HDTVs (which sounds ridiculous but you get the idea), CGI-quality graphics etc. The backwards compatibility feature was even removed from the newer models.

Don't get me wrong though. I love the home console. It has a great library of exclusive titles, pioneered Blu-ray (correct me if I'm wrong), and you're able to access the PlayStation Network free of charge. But it wasn't the best thing since sliced bread. I think its predecessors had a larger impact on the industry. It's difficult to say if the PlayStation 4 will fair any better.

Oh, and since you asked, I would rank them in the following order:

1. PlayStation 2
2. PlayStation
3. PlayStation 3

And no, I won't miss the PS3. I'm beyond the young age where the roots of nostalgia take hold, and to me the console is just a nice piece of hardware that will eventually be replaced. I really enjoyed my PS3, and it's my favorite console for this generation, but I long for the next-generation already.

As consoles go PS3 is my favourite console, game wise it is excellent thou I do miss the PSone & PS2 Japanese games, like Squaresoft use to produce

PSone felt old and outside GOW PS2 did, Sony has just show me Beyond & TLOU which is amazing, anyone who is turning their noses up to them have got Nextgen Rose tinted glasses on, Beyond is probably the best graphics Ive seen and its on PS3.
