I think I will wait it out next gen. I probably won't bother buying at all or I may buy when the console gets to be $99 or less. This generation has taught me a few things about all the companies; things I don't like very much at all. For me to buy a console on day one, it had better possess a quantum leap in hardware and software in regards to performance, features and reliability. The console MUST be OPEN to customization on the hardware and software front as well as allow for homebrew and third party hardware and software support. Anything less, and it won't be worth the launch price tag. It's as simple as that.
Now, dislike away as I know many of you will.

Prepare for meltdowns if these next gen console rumors are true. Phase 1: Denial. Phase 2: Mask a lie under "opinion" vs a fact. Phase 3: Bring up the PS3/360 era when it has nothing to do with the subject. Phase 4: Say that the power gap doesn't matter but constantly defend the weaker specs.

I went with the second model, 2-3 years after release. But it all depends on the games. If there's some stuff that makes me really want to play it, I'll buy one earlier. If it's just a bunch of sequels to sequels like this gen, with a severe shortage of new IP's, it could easily be 4-5 years before they get cheap enough to warrant a purchase.

Like when i first got my PS3 i only played sport titles at first while the library was building up most likely its going to be the same situation with the PS4 but it has to look 100 times better than my PS3 for it to warrant a purchase.

Day one and the premium model, I won't be backlogging the likes if Uncharted 4 and missing out by waiting years for a less able and degraded PS4 in case the launch model isn't as reliable, my warranty will cover that

I'll really try to hold off until the 3rd or 4th model. It will be a crap ton of money straight out of the gate.

Your launch model is still running? God I'm jealous... A few months ago, mine was still working. But it was so freaking loud... it was like someone was vacuum cleaning my appartement or something... lol ^^ Guess it's that nostalgia feeling.
I'm eager to see what the PS4 can do. I'll have plenty to play in 2013 and 2014 (lol I'll spend at least 600 Euros on games until 2014). GOW Ascension, Dead Space 3, Far Cry 3, AC3, Crysis 3 (lol for the 3's... but I don't think sequels are bad... I mean we got some great franchises, don't we?), and whatnot. Great great games.
I hope they don't release a teaser trailer that's obviously pre-rendered but keep promising that this is 100% in-engine and even in-game like they did with the Motorstorm trailer...Kratos throws a grenade. Grenade kills 50 undead soldiers. Then the grenade explodes.

Trying to keep cool when it comes to PS4 dont want to expect anything then to be disappointed sony is honestly the only console maker that hasnt let me down in terms to that. Hopefully we'll get some news from Sony sometime near e3 next year
