http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/17/hy...-on-ps3-today/The new "Game Genie" cheat device is shipping today, July 17. Of this year.
No, Galoob hasn't returned – the new Game Genie is a USB cheat device for PS3 produced by Hyperkin. It allows users to transfer game saves to a PC, edit them using pre-programmed edits from a database, and then return the saves to PS3 – for the usual benefits of extra money, ammo, experience, etc. "Popular games that will have modifications at release are Uncharted 3, Batman: Arkham City, Final Fantasy XIII-2, and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim," the company notes.
Of course, since the days of ubiquitous cheat devices, there have been some significant changes in the game landscape. During E3, a Hyperkin representative told Joystiq that none of the premade cheats would be usable in multiplayer, and that Hyperkin would routinely remove any that were, in order to avoid cheaters using the Game Genie for online play. But for your own single-player games? Go nuts!

i'd use it for either games i've beat, or some that i completely suck at. a Game Genie was my savior in the NES days

Surprised this took so long. With hard drives and the systems becoming more PC I would think it wouldn't have taken this long. I will be very surprised if people aren't able to hack online games though. COD comes to mind.

For games like GTA, it will be massive amounts of fun! I hope it doesn't disable trophies, I'm a whore and I want those.

This has made my day! I always beat a game first before using these kinds of things, but this gen has been severely lacking in cheats and codes. I'm totally buying this! I also think this is a god-send for unlocking stuff in games that try to force you to play online like HAWX and Mass Effect.

That's pretty cool to be back in the accessory list lol. I've never used one but a LOT of my friends have given a lot of prayer requests to have a device like this.

Awesome! Nothing will beat the amazing Game Genie add-on from the NES. I saved my allowance for a LONG time to get me one of those bad boys. I will totally buy this!

Hehe, I remember Action Replay, had one for my ps2. What I loved about it was that I could go on their website and enter a new code in for a specific game on that list. No internet connection needed. Then simply select the cheats I want, take the disc out and put the game in. Loved it.

Does it disable trophies and autosaving. Back on the PS2 and PS1 I liked enabling some fun cheats, taking my memory card out and having a blast knowing my real game wasn't being ruined.
Trophy-licious!
