lol, I was half expecting this anyway, not too surprised though, SE are major fuckups this gen and haven't produced a single 10/10 worthy game for PS3, no way in hell will I be buying any of their future games except for the handhelds. From here on, the Tales of series will probably destroy FF in Japan which it recently did with XIII-2, it seems they've had enough of the BS so its basically going to be catered towards the west where it seems people can't stop buying their games no matter what. Wonder what Sakaguchi is thinking, bet he's so glad he ditched the company when he did, must be terrible though, spending years of your life creating a masterpiece series, only for it to later end up as a milked turd.

If this turns out to be true, SE will end up being the stupidest game company in the history ever. I mean they know they could make millions if they were to make FF VII HD remake but no they want to make a game as good as FF VII before they do that, FF V XIII could be that game and now they might be cancelling it? That to me has got to be the dumbest company ever, they probably got a monkey running the CEO position.

Exactly man, this is just people pulling rumors out of their ass to make SquareEnix come out with an answer or update of some sort since they drip feed us the news about Versus. Watch as SE denies this in the next few days.

They're incompetent at trying to adapt to "western" gamers and technology. The Japanese are, as a whole, behind compared to the West in the gaming arena at this point.

They're not earning many 'new' converts with their newer, watered down, titles. Nor are they really appeasing the old guard which constitutes the majority of their fan base. If anything the older SE gamers feel angry and betrayed at all that has been going on with them the past 6 or so years.

They're just floundering due to the changing times. They'll either go under, get bought out, or maybe get their shit together (I'm dubious about that).
