I'm with Itachi on this. It wouldn't have been so bad if you could actively try and catch the monsters yourself but to have to hope that they turned to crystal after the fight kinda sucked

Wouldn't make a difference either way. Whether they bring back the capturing weapons from FFX or get sued by Pokemon for the Crystal Balls.

Exactly! Final Fantasy XIII-2 certainly didn't do using monsters better than Pokemon. They tried something different but it didn't quite work. In my opinion it would have been slightly better if you could use something to catch them because I remember some monsters I wanted to catch being a pain in the ass to get. Speaking of pain in the asses, the way you had to level the monsters up was a pain in the ass too. Always think when it comes to FF it is better with party members and summons.

Gers, GTA5 got in your way lol. Once you get to Serendipity, there's a fragment skill that allows you to get monsters easier.

Hope you enjoy it! What I really liked about crisis core was the story and the protagonist , Zack. From what I remember the missions became a little repetitive but still an enjoyable game.

If you like this make sure you play FF VII afterwards. It continues the story and hailed as one of the best FF, if not RPGs, of all time.

Yeah, my feelings are similar. Zack is my favorite Final Fantasy protagonist and the ending was great (only game to make me cry).

I thought the overall story was kind of convoluted and odd though. And yes, it's somewhat repetitive, especially if you do those side-quests from the menu.

    http://m.uk.ign.com/articles/2013/11...date-announced

FFX/X-II HD Remasters released in the US on the 18th March 2014 and in Europe on the 21st March.

Don't know if this is common knowledge but only just found this article. Still no word on the vita release though which is the one I'm waiting for.

Yeah, I'm more interested in the Vita release. By the time it's out, might be enough time passed for another playthrough.

Think I'm gonna skip Lightening Returns it just doesn't appeal to me. If it have been Snow Returns I'd be all over it though!

Really want a release date on the Vita version of FFX HD. Can't see us having to wait to long after the ps3 date to be honest.

Scud if you do another playthrough then let me know and I will do one with you

And are you playing an old PS1 version? PSN version? Or did you get the Steam version that was recently released? Because if you got the steam version, I am very curious as to how it looks, plays, and compares to the older versions. The FFVII steam version, from what I understand, is a very nice improvement.

Just finished watching a few minutes of the Steam version, they're using the MiDi music for the game. Looks...the same?

Just been confirmed that the Vita release date is the same as the ps3's. With the Vita version you buy the physical copy of FF X HD and you get a code to download FF X-2 HD.

    Good times are a-coming!

If I am not mistaken, your best best is to get behind him and beat on him for as long as possible. Eventually he will charge up some shock move, at which point you need to roll/run away to avoid it. If you face him in the eye though he's just gonna use his machine guns and homing missiles (I think he has those) until you're dead.

yeah i bought a walkthrough guide a while back and it says stay close or keep away when he's attacking and that'll avoid the attacks but it only lets me go so far/so close.
I beat on him with my sword (XD) but compared to the hits i'm taking i'm wiped out within 60 seconds lol. Usually i get those power surge things happening & usually level up twice..... but he still cooks me for breakfast :/
this is the first ff game i've played and its a pretty early battle, i'm still kinda getting used to the controls i have my sword, fire, blizzard, cure & items. there's barely anytime to switch though otherwise he'll attack me more. Silly question - how do i block or guard? (not that it would probably help against this)
