I thought FF8 was one of the worst FFs, I just hated the changes made to the battle system. Not played 9 yet so I dont know how that one is.

I agree with you to a point about the battle system. I thought having to draw magic sucked big time. FF 9 sort of went back to its roots, you should give it a try

This another great entry. Although this is my least fav of the PS1 series, it is far from bad. I didn't mind drawing for magic. It just added a different strategy on whether you wanted to stock up and risk death. And I loved the card game! This and blitzball are my favorite side games from the series!

I could not get in to Final Fantasy VIII. I think for me it was because I was just too attached to the characters from VII. It just didn't feel right to me playing VIII. Plus everything changed. The materia system changed. And I hated those stupid ass cards you had to collect. I still can't play that damn card game!!!

It certainly has a very appealing theme. Characters are diverse and great(Especially, Laguna!). A few things I didn't like was the Draw system and everything past Disk 3.

I'm playing through it right now actually, and yeah its quite underrated I don't see the problem with it really, I just don't think its up there with V-VII.

Agree with almost everything, just the draw system could get a bit monotonous in my opinion but yeah what a game!

lol I know. I'm gonna play that next after I finish VII. I just finished gathering all the huge materias. Was gonna try to master as much of as I could. But I think I just wanna play thru them all first lol I got VI - IX

Nice gotta play VII again too i beat it awhile back but i lost the save file because my ps3 corrupted by my lil sister..she shut the system when it was saving lol i was so pissed. I only got VII and VIII but i still got IX in disc form probably play that last.

I felt Squall was a very relatable character, I liked the dark and sometimes gothic theme, and I liked the battle music.

I didn't like the monotonous draw system, the enemies leveling up as you do (which makes leveling up a bad thing), and the directionless story.

Overall, I didn't really enjoy myself when playing FFVIII.

I just felt the story was too ad-hoc for the most part. It mostly consisted of a short-term goal after short-term goal, while any semblance of an overall direction was convoluted.
