If I had the money and time. I wouldn't mind playing it. It's just another MMORPG with Final Fantasy as the title. The online Final Fantasy games will probably be the only parts of the franchise that I will not own at the time being or in the future. The games though they look amazing. I know a lot of people have spent countless of hours playing XI. The latest Final Fantasy XIV looks beautiful and fun.
@Blacksite
Even if it was false, I wouldn't mind but now that you brought that up. I found an awkward coincidence.
I wouldn't be too hyped about it although the idea would be amazing with FFXIII visual. Also, when FFX HD was announced in the process they mentioned the updated graphics or it came from an article which leads to your point because I do remember they did defunct it since it was brought up so many times.
I'm not sure if I was the only who had this feeling but after rewatching the footage. The game reminded me of Dissidia despite just looking the same but with a keen look.

Is it the same engine? I know Dissidia Final Fantasy is a PSP title so maybe they're using a modified version of the game's engine.
So far, it looked to me like they increased the saturation and black level, the latter of which bugs me because you end up seeing less of the environment.Last edited by Blacksite; 02-28-2013 at 07:05.

Can't be sure about the engine. There has been so much advancement even since FFX release on the PS2.
About the awkward coincidence, before I was on here last night. I was watching a video of Final Fantasy XIII being worked on the PS2; it seemed to be XIII but with Yuna and Rikku as the character models. The guy talking on the video exclaimed that it was possible it could've been a PS2 release but after showing off FF7 Tech Demo, Square went on to different direction by moving it to the PS3. You probably remember those the images that were posted on here at the time.

I really hope they localize Type-0. I had the chance to play it and the game play blows XIII out of the water. If it wasn't the for slight gleam of hope that one day there might be a chance to play this title in English, I would suck it up, and play it as it is.

They were going for the cell-shaded animations...yuck. Anyway, reason why I brought that up now because it may be possible for an updated graphical version of the game. And like I said the first, I wouldn't fall too hard on it. Now, if its true and it happens. I wouldn't seeing FF7-9 again. Just thinking of the theme song you posted few weeks ago made me nostalgic.

I wouldn't mind an HD remaster. I'm normally against remakes though which is why I seemed a bit aggressive in my initial post.

I'm wondering what Hiroyuki Ito's next game would be like, assuming he's leading development on Final Fantasy XV.

I actually really enjoy FF2's leveling system. It's the most realistic (doesn't mean anything really, it's just kind of neat) leveling system in any of the games. My first play through of the game I hated it. Thought it was terrible. Especially since I'm the type of player who saves my MP for boss battles, and relies on melee/ weaker magics to get through the majority of a dungeon. Given the leveling system though, that made my play-style almost impossible, and I had to change it a bit. Which I did, with my second play-through.
After having gotten myself used to the system, the second play through was a blast. My characters were OP very early on. Just figure out what your tactics are, use plenty of magic, farm weak enemies (let them hit you to level up your HP stats) and that's about it. It's actually, in my opinion at least, a very good leveling system that forces the player to plan out every action. So, I had no issue with II's leveling system after I had enough time to master it. I still prefer the standard leveling approaches though.

Would agree that FF5 has a great battle system, if you are willing to put the work/hours in.
Talking of FF5 is reminding me I have to go back and actually complete it!
