http://news.softpedia.com/news/Borde...C-282325.shtmlGearbox Software has confirmed that it’s sent Borderlands 2 into the certification process on all three platforms – PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 – which means the studio is now free to work on downloadable content, including the eagerly awaited fifth character class: the Mechromancer.
Borderlands 2 is anticipated by millions of fans who already had a great time with the first title in the series. Promising to bring new classes, even more weapons, and an array of improvements, the game has already gotten many people’s attention.
Developer Gearbox Software has now confirmed that work on Borderlands 2 is complete and that the studio has already sent the game to Microsoft and Sony in order to get certification.
Once this process is done, the game goes “gold” and can be printed on discs and shipped to stores ahead of its release.
“The game is headed to certification,” the studio said. “This means that the game’s on-disc content has been locked down and will be thoroughly tested to ensure it is ready for release – in other words, the game is finished and we cannot make any further changes to the game.”
This doesn’t mean that Gearbox will forget about it, as the whole team is now working on downloadable content for the upcoming title, chief among which being the Mechromancer character class.
“The team is now shifting their focus towards post-launch efforts, including the Mechromancer: the new character class that will be released as FREE downloadable content to members of the Borderlands 2 Premiere Club roughly 60 to 90 days after launch.”
In case your forgot, you can gain access into the Borderlands 2 Premiere Club by pre-ordering the game, either its standard or its array of special editions, at any participating retailer in the world.
Borderlands 2 is set to be released for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 on September 18, in North America, and September 21 in the rest of the world.

really hoping the new Mechromancer will be released sooner than expected, I'll be lvl 30+ after a month and no envy to start over with the new char. Having it since the start, thus allowing to see if I like it will change everything.
