It's true that summer is super slow in the game release area, and we are at the end of a generation. Besides that, a lot of people go on vacation in the summer or are at least hanging outside. My crystal ball says 2013 is a big year to at least start discussing PlayStation 4 and launch games, like **cough, cough** Nathan Drake Karting.

Speaking for myself, I am soooo bored of gaming right now. Haven't switched my PS3 or 360 on for more than 30 mins in the past 3 - 6 months.
Unfortunately with that being the case, i dont post in the subs thread either much anymore, and that place can be 5 days before a new post is made nowadays.
TL;DR - There isn't much to talk/laugh/mock anymore, so cant be arsed
That's just me though.

Threads like this pop up every 6 months. Things go in cycles, there are busy periods, and slow periods. I recall threads like this being made back in 2007, 2008, 2009, and so on. What truly made this place a graveyard was when Seb was still running things. Before the new owner/s came in everything was broken, members were gone, and the quality we were known for deteriorated. In my opinion we have come a long ways since then, so that is something to be proud of.

7 years and counting!

A lot of us are enjoying the summer weather. Once that's over we might get some more activity in here(Or not?). One other thing to take note is that gaming has reach it's limit of excitement. While games like Halo and The Last of Us promise a worthwhile experience, it's not nearly enough in comparison to a next gen console reveal and it's games. Once the Playstation 4 is announced(Or whatever Sony will call it), this place will boom with activity again. Otherwise don't expect things to get better anytime soon.

True that. We seem to get one every so often.

Frankly, I think there are too main reasons. One, there isn't all too much to discuss right now. As we've said for months, once we start to get concrete info on the PS4, discussion around here will rise and members searching for information on it will come across this site. And then BAM, things will get going again (in theory).
Two, a lot of us are busy. I'd love to be able to be as active here as I used to be. But between working, spending time with friends, family, and the girlfriend, as well as gaming, obviously, I just don't seem to have that kind of time.SchaffinOSX

I think making fresh content more visible might help with forum interaction. I personally watch a few threads carefully and not much else. If I want to comment or view I go through the subscribed threads feature and rarely see see new stuff. Not that I don't want too but it's just easier to find the stuff that I like that way. Maybe an rss feed or something on the site on the hompage orsomething. Real time forum action? Not sure the specifics on either of those but I do know if you draw attention to newstuff I'll take a look rather than just checking replies to subscribed threads.

Somebody get me a doctor, I ain't feelin' ill ...But I ain't feelin' this at all...

Oh hey look, it's this thread a-DAMMIT. Beaten to the punch again. That's like 6x in a row

There's always a cooldown period in my experience here. It happens. Especially when in my very honest opinion, there's just not much in gaming worth talking about these days.
