Status Of The Forum

It doesn't seem very lively, then again I've been spending time on the android forums and that place is a hornets nest.

Go to the top of the page, Profile and view New Posts..that will show you how active it is. Also, it is just a bit slow this time of day cause people are working in the UK and people are sleeping in America.

True that. We seem to get one every so often.

Frankly, I think there are too main reasons. One, there isn't all too much to discuss right now. As we've said for months, once we start to get concrete info on the PS4, discussion around here will rise and members searching for information on it will come across this site. And then BAM, things will get going again (in theory).

Two, a lot of us are busy. I'd love to be able to be as active here as I used to be. But between working, spending time with friends, family, and the girlfriend, as well as gaming, obviously, I just don't seem to have that kind of time.

You can not expect the same sort of activity in the Summer as you would in the Fall and Winter.

Add in the fact its nearing the end of the console generation, and theres not much news worthy stuff going on. This time next year we'll probably be face first in PS4/Xbox3 news.

Yeah, but everyone always says wait for E3 for the site to pick up. Now its wait for the fall blockbusters.

that's because usually E3 brings the noise. This year E3 sucked ass because nothing of note was shown. Even TLOU barely generated news here.

Mabe PSU should go mult-tai-platform and cover news on...eh Norweign Celebrities?

I know, its not quite like the old days but I guess it may return once the next gen is in full-swing but PSU the site isn't what it was years ago considering the news but the forums too have been bit better but still a odd feeling.

All of the regulars are getting older with more things to do,or just not into gaming as much as they used to, and most of the new people that come dont bring anything special lol. Then there's also people like me, I log on to this site and it's forum's everyday but I don't always participate, because most people usually say what i'm thinking before I do. With that being said, without Sony having some truly "big time triple A" exclusives(PlaystationAllstars is debatable depending on who you ask lol) coming this year, this place will probably seem a little dead to some folks until Gamescom and/or Tokyo Game show comes with the goods.

A lot of us are enjoying the summer weather. Once that's over we might get some more activity in here(Or not?). One other thing to take note is that gaming has reach it's limit of excitement. While games like Halo and The Last of Us promise a worthwhile experience, it's not nearly enough in comparison to a next gen console reveal and it's games. Once the Playstation 4 is announced(Or whatever Sony will call it), this place will boom with activity again. Otherwise don't expect things to get better anytime soon.

Do you care sometimes? You're criticizing others in your post yet... over the past 24hrs, you've not posted a single time in a game discussion thread. You're just as much a part of the "dead problem" as anyone else.

Well, I've tried to stimulate discussions multiple times with the articles lifted from other news sites, alongside zzKurozz and recently, the PSU editors. I don't always share my opinion though but I would expect others to jump in regardless.

One of the more active threads that we have right now is in the Fanboy Throwdown section. I know you don't care one way or another what happens to it but I thought it was worth pointing out. If you think I'm being a jerk with my previous post then you're misinterpreting what I'm saying.

You can do the exact same thing you expect from others. Otherwise, don't criticize them. If you've created the discussion, and expect others to show their side, aren't you just as much at fault for the "dead' nature of the forums because you don't contribute in the thread as well? Yes, you are. Just like I am, and others are.
