Man...I don't understand what the arguing is all about. These are great games Sony is bringing and the 3rd party titles are through the roof awesome. It isn't like Sony hasn't given me any awesome games at all this year. I also don't know why people bring Microsoft into a Sony thread. I honestly don't care about Halo or Forza. I also don't care that if someone in the past said they don't have core games and focusing on casuals. Good for them....it helped them sell a crap load of Kinects and XBOXs last Christmas. I think what Sony is focusing on for this holiday is just as good if not better for families. A incredibly priced sku and a quartet of games that are immensely fun for everyone in the family...parents, teens, and kids alike. Heck...even 20 and 30 year olds are anxiously awaiting these games.
I will pick up a couple and also a ton of third party games to fill in the rest of my gaming needs. I don't want GOW4/Last of Us/Beyond this holiday...I don't have time for all those games. Sony has so many great games they need to space them out like this. Giving time for folks to focus on one before the next. With the third party games we are seeing this holiday too...man it is only smart for Sony to go this route. TBH it surprises me the timing for Microsofts releases considering the juggernauts that are set for this holiday. I don't think there is a thing wrong with timing your game launches considering the competition and I don't think there is a problem for Sony or Microsoft letting 3rd party games do heavy lifting during times as long as I have plenty of quality titles to play.
I think Sony's strategy is a good one. It hasn't hurt Microsoft and if they market the new priced console along side these games...I think it is a winning formula to add to the consumer base who will later next year turn to adult titles as time goes along. They need to do whatever they can to limit Nintendo's thunder.

Lets be honest....we ALL have a PS3 or 360 anyways. We also have tons of adult and core games to choose from this holiday season and won't be missing GOW4, TLOU, or Beyond either. Sony is offering some 3rd party exclusive partnerships to try to sway people between a 360 or PS3 copy.
What Sony is TRYING to do however is appeal to those without a current gen console or just a Wii. Those people will primarily be families and people with children. For them they will have a new Wii to choose from along with the 360 and a newly priced affordable PS3 scu and the listed games we've been talking about. They haven't stopped giving us adult content...they just shifted their marketing this holiday to garnering new users who will grow into hopefully adult gamers. They also have a huge vault of classics from Killzone, Uncharted, MGS, GT, LBP, Infamous, and so many more to get people started at an affordable rate and with a great library of choices in genres and tastes for the adult and children. I think LBP would have been a much bigger success if the console was at a much more family friendly price when they launched....well now the console will be...and they are releasing games to capitalize on it.

All I'll say is, after playing the Beta, LBP Karting is immense fun.
