I've been making costumes and props now for about 10 years but this has been my best yet. One of the things to note is that I was also e-mailed by Guerilla Games for the good job I did on the costume. It's a bit of a cross between the Concept and game designs. The suit was made with EVA Foam, Pepakura, etc. took about 5 months to get it where it is now. The helmet lighting was done by putting a pair of red Glospex into the helmet. Here are links to the costume images.

Well, on this I designed my own templates for the armor and the helmet was 3D modelled by a friend of mine and I ran it through a papercrafting program to build it, then I hardened it with casting resin. As for how much it cost me to make this would be around $400 for everything from the boots to helmet. As for Guerilla Games, they know about it. One of the people on the art staff shared photos of it all over their office and now I'm friends with a lot of the GG people on Twitter and Facebook. I wish I could jion the Killzone community forum but I have some kind of problem joining that it does'nt take my registration. Wish I could get help from someone with that but no luck.
Now would I ever make another one of these suits, the answer is no. I put a ton of work into it, and just would'nt want to do it again. The back is as detailed as the front, I'm using Molle Medic pouches on the back of the calves, ACU Ammo pouches on the back of the waist, and if you ever take a real close look at the concept photo of the Capture Trooper, those canisters at the back of the waist look exactly like 2 car oil filters attached together, so that's what I used.
Now if any of you want to make one of these yourselves, I think I still have the templates and I know I have the files for the Concept and Game style helmets. The wrist weapon though was scratchbuilt so I did'nt make patterns for it. It's just foam board, dowel rod, and copper wire. The undersuit is a Vader undersuit, then I have a lycra headcover, and a stormtrooper neckseal over that. For the boots I'm wearing SWAT boots but I've since covered them with grey thin EVA foam to make them accurate.

Awesome job on that man, would like to see you do some Gears of War stuff!

Pretty awesome. I remember the KZ3 pre-release story trailer where Sev and other ISA soldiers were back to back and surrounded, and then the capture troopers come out of nowhere , got me so hyped for the game

@THUGGEDOUT, I've played the Gears games, but never had much interest in doing the costumes because I don't have the body build for anyone except Carmine UGH lol.
@Nitey, funny I've never seen that video until you mentioned it then I had to look it up thanks for sharing.
Right now I'm upgrading the Thigh/Shin/Knee armor, that way I'll have Concept Style and I'll also have Game Style. But I've got other Helghast outfits planned in the future after I get back from taking this to Dragon*Con this year for the costume contest. I'm going to start sculpting the Hazmat Trooper Helmet, then working on the armor for it, and I've also got an Assault Trooper helmet on my shelf, and I've got the stuff to do Radec sometime in the future. Hard to believe I live in Arkansas eh?
Also at the end of the year I'll be starting a Killzone Helghast Costuming Legion. Right now I have the site up, but going to be doing a lot of work this year to really make this a go.
