hello, so this morning i switched my ps3 off properly and when i switched it back on after 30 minutes or so, the blue screen apeared with message 'setting information is corrupt press x to repair'... i clicked "x" bt the screen when black and froze... tried it several times bt still no luck.. i tried all the options from the safe mode but nothing seems to be working... it would say restoring but when its done the screen will just turn black and freeze.. same applies to updating and ps3 restore which format the entire disk. nothing is working... what should i do? this is the 1st time having problems with my ps3. NB its a 120GB slim model.

Way to contribute to the thread D.

I've had this problem too thats how my ps3 died it was somewhat similiar.. You got to either replace the drive or get another ps3 man.

Could be your hdd or nand. Try a different hdd on there and if it continues, it's pretty much dead.
