Argument over some dogs leads to fatal shooting

How is it unstable people can get guns so easily? I mean, when you register for a gun or whatever, can they even deny you legaly owning a gun? That man was clearly unstable.

Even the most unstable and crazy person can put on a smile, and show what he needs. Or maybe he inherited the guns, the government doesn't know about guns that aren't registered.

I did. I'm failing to see what traits before the shooting would have given him away as being unstable.

Here:

There was evidence Conner "had done some writing. A lot of times, he would set up in his trailer and write. But I read some of his writings, and they made absolutely no sense. It was more or less garble."

Another man in nearby Brownwood, who only gave his first name, Billy, said he rides his bicycle everywhere and had gotten acquainted with Conner, who seemed "always zoned out," and "always had a blank stare."

Just to add to the things that happen..

12 years ago, I worked a murder that was done because of dog fighting. It ended up declared a tie... so someone died.

Anyways.. that's what the news reported.
