Q1 results reflect Riccitiello's 'PC is fastest growing platform' claim
Game publishing giant made more money from the PC platform than it did from PS3 in the quarter ending June 30.
In its latest report, the firm broke down earnings by platform, which provided an interesting insight into the state of the industry.Xbox 360 led the pack, bringing EA $292 million in the past three months. That compared favorably to the PS3 which did $267 million for the firm. But the PC platform actually managed to outperform Sony's console with $276 million.
Further dispelling any prior notion that PC gaming was under threat of death, these figures reflect EA CEO John Riccitiello's recent claim that the PC is the fastest-growing platform in the industry right now.
He said it was growing not through traditional boxed sales, but through subscriptions, micro transactions and downloads. Now we know what he meant; Origin has 21 million users, Battlefield 3 Premium has sold 1.3 million subs, and with $30 million in the bank this year Fifa Ultimate Team also continues to do well.
Could PC become the leading platform next-gen?

EA definitely have stepped their game up this gen when it comes to providing new IPs and content. Couldn't disagree more with their current direction to F2P though.

No surprise there. 3rd party usually sells more on the 360. That being said the gap isnt really that wide. EA still makes good money on the PS3 platform. But 360 is a gold mine.

Crysis 2, Mass Effect 2, Dead Space, Dantes Inferno, Dead Space 2, Mass Effect 3, Bad Company, Hot Pusuit, Burnout Paradise. Bad Company 2 all sit in my collection.
They are all amongst the best games this generation as well.

They really have changed, once they just bought a company out and said "keep making that same game".
Now, they have just said "make the game you want".
They have started to become a publisher again, instead of a salve master.
Still criminal what they did do companies like Westwood and brands like Command and Conquer back in the day.
They seem to have learned.

They just need to stop with this Origin exclusivity they are doing when it comes to Steam. Fair enough it is their own games but it's annoying for me when i have a fair chunk of money invested into Steam already.
I Like Games.

As much as I love games, I could never spend the same amount of time in a place where I hate/look down on, and continue to post and participate.

Ok let's go through what you listed:
Ok I'll give you that.
Played the first, hated it, IMO most overrated series this gen, KOTOR was a much better RPG from Bioware.Mass Effect 2
It's alright.Dead Space
Meh.Dantes Inferno
Hate shooters, but even so, there are MUCH better shooters out there than them.Bad Company, Bad Company 2
Hot Pusuit
Not really into racers other than MotorStorm because it gives you a thrill, but:
Burnout Paradise
Same as above but at least it brought a sort of open world feel to a racer so good for trying something new.
Overall my opinion of them is the same, I just don't like those games.
I could list a lot of games I'd put above those. They are all amongst the best games this generation as well.
No idea what this bit means though, you disagree with my opinion which is fair enough yet ram a list down my throat over it - my opinion is unchanged, I could easily live without EA Games.Your game thread replies are all starting to make sense now.

I wasnt asking for justificaiton, nor was I ramming a list down your throat, just pointing out what I own, if I wanted to list, I would have added Battlefield 3 etc in that list.
I certainly don't own games because of a publisher, in fact it wasnt untill I thought about what EA actually publish, did I realise what games I had of theirs.
