EA making more money from 360 than it does on PS3.

In its latest report, the firm broke down earnings by platform, which provided an interesting insight into the state of the industry. Xbox 360 led the pack, bringing EA $292 million in the past three months. That compared favorably to the PS3 which did $267 million for the firm. But the PC platform actually managed to outperform Sony's console with $276 million.
Further dispelling any prior notion that PC gaming was under threat of death, these figures reflect EA CEO John Riccitiello's recent claim that the PC is the fastest-growing platform in the industry right now.
He said it was growing not through traditional boxed sales, but through subscriptions, micro transactions and downloads. Now we know what he meant; Origin has 21 million users, Battlefield 3 Premium has sold 1.3 million subs, and with $30 million in the bank this year Fifa Ultimate Team also continues to do well.

No surprise there. 3rd party seems to usually do better on the 360 although the gap here isnt very wide. So the PS3 is still making EA some good money as well. Btw already posted here. http://www.psu.com/forums/showthread...18#post5877718

I am surprised by this a little. Even though the 360 has a larger user base, I know that certain games have sold more on the PS3 from EA. I think FIFA is one of those, if I am correct? As in a drastic big difference in the PS3 favor.

But ME 3 selling 4 times as many copies on 360 than the PS3 propably evened that out.

Yep, what Rad said. I think the likes of BF3 and Crysis sold more on the 360 too. I'm sure franchises like Madden would sell more on the Xbox seeing as that is a very popular title in the states where the 360 has a much bigger install base. Can't say I'm surprised that EA make more money on the 360..

I was under the impression Fifa sold more on Xbox?

I wonder if someone could find out cause now I'm interested.

It sold more on Xbox 360 here, and sold more on the PS3 in EUR.

No its way ahead in Europe and overall. Probably Japan adds to those numbers too but they go for PES instead since its Konami.

LAg depends ont he servers/hosts you connect to and how far awy they are further away they are the more lag you get.

Sony has checked in with its quarterly sales report, which paints a moody picture of the company's Game division and business as a whole. Sales in the Game segment sunk 14.5 per cent year-on-year, providing a loss of 3.5 billion yen (£28.69m). This time last year, that number was a positive 4.1 billion yen.

Ouch!! Not good at all. So much for people saying that the PS and gaming divisions of Sony are profitable. Apparently the whole company is taking huge losses.
