You're comparing life time sales of the PS1 and the PS2 to the current PS3 sales. Once it's all said and done the PS3 will top the sales of its predecessors. Sony has never had the cheapest console this generation. Once the price drops everyone is going to buy a PS3.

The PS2 hit ove 70 million at the end of 2003. 3 years after launch.....
The Ps3 hit over 33 milllion at the end of 2009. 3 years after launch...

I honestly dont see the ps3 reaching 100 million in total sales. It took PS1 9+ years to reach those sales and i dont believe the ps3 will be supported as long as the ps1 was. If we based it on the 6 year mark both the PS1 and PS2 still outsell the PS3
