My favourite zombie games are the Left 4 Deads.

Can't beat a bit of versus carnage.

Yakuza: Of The End (aka Yakuza: Dead Souls). That's the next zombie game I plan to pick up.

To add to the discussion, I'm a sucker for zombies in video games. An older fave of mine was Stubbs the Zombie (you got to BE the zombie!). Recent ones I'm loving are the Walking Dead episodes.

I'm not sure of it ever came out for PS2 or 3. I played it on the original Xbox. Fun as hell. It was a comedy/horror game with really good writing. Juvinile but great humor. You would kill people and add them to your zombie hoard, it was splendid.

There was a really cool zombie game tech demo just before ps3 launched in which you played a zombie trying to do the invasion , looked awesome but no publisher so was canned

For starters, there are not that many zombie games ( lots of indie zombie games) and most of them either suck or are similar to others.

What i want is a open world zombie game that is about survival and for us to scavenge for supplies and gear and online would be awesome with other people ( who could kill you or help in a massive world). A game were it's not " shoot the zbomes" but more of a " should i shoot these zombies and get a horde after me, or sneak around", sadly all those games are about kill zombies which makes it boring after a few hours. Ammo is important and if you are capable of doing so. A real risk/reward would add to the fun, like a military zone: best gear, very dangerous( zombies and other players) plus when you see other survivors should you be friendly and get a helpful hand or kill them and get their gear?

Luckily there is such a game (DAYZ) on the pc which is exactly like this but its a mod more than a game, so its not the best. Zombies( more infected, run at like 200 mph) are terrible, infested with hackers and has many issues but is in alpha though. Not the best engine either but still a good game/mod.

Plus war z and dead linger offer similar experiences but both are indie/small time and still a while away from release.

Dayz is a mod used on arma 2, when it was released it increased the sales of arma 2 by 500%, has over 950,000 unique ids( players) and was released like 4 months ago and with the help of 2 or 3 websites ( like pc gamer) it became massive. Shows ther is a real fanbase for this type of game. If your a pc gamer or play on the pc, you should check it out, very good and a good future for zombie survival fans

    TLR

Most zombie games from known developers suck, they don't know what we really want. They think if they give us zombies and guns we are ok. My opinion anyway,
You might like to read about this.

    http://www.pcworld.com/article/26058...lone_game.html

Yesterday we learned the popular zombie survival mod for ARMA II, DayZ, will be developed as a standalone game.
The developer of the mod, Dean "Rocket" Hall, made a blog post on the DayZ Tumblr that he will serve as project lead and Bohemia Interactive (the same guys who make the ARMA games) will develop and publish the game. "The project will follow the Minecraft development model; fast iterations with the community alpha available for a heavily discounted price," wrote Hall as part of his personal announcement.

The mod is less than 6 months old, but has made such a huge impact on gaming that it has boosted sales of ARMA II to record numbers and made it a top seller on Steam for weeks. Just a couple days ago DayZ reached over 1 million unique players, so it's not surprising that Bohemia Interactive is attempting to capitalize on that success by publishing a full-fledged game. Whether or not the standalone DayZ game will please fans of the mod remains to be seen.

A website for the production of the standalone game has been made, but lacks significant content at the moment. Keep your attention there for progress.

Though incredibly popular, fun and immersive, the mod was not without faults. Being built on a military battle simulator certainly helped the post-apocalyptic Chernarus landscape feel more realistic, but the bugs and awkward controls came along with it. Now that it is being built as a separate entity, the producers will be able to smoothly add in features while creating a zombie survival game from the start. Of course, the DayZ mod itself is still in an alpha stage and is expected to be developed in parallel with the standalone game, so fans of the mod should continue to receive new updates.

I don't need no stinkin' signature!
