Incredible visuals, visceral gunplay, long installations - all things one might associate with id Software's RAGE. Not often associated with RAGE are apologies and regret, but that's exactly what id co-founder John Carmack brought to the stage for today's QuakeCon 2012 keynote address.
Speaking to the gathered crowd of journalists and industry enthusiasts, Carmack immediately came forth with criticism and genuine reflection about the game. He first expressed his disappointment with the ending, before going on to state that the PC version in particular was very poorly handled in terms of driver support. Furthermore, he acknowledged that the world of RAGE was essentially a shell with little in terms of the interaction many players were expecting.

I haven't beat the game yet (I only got to the 2nd city) but from what I played, I didn't find it that bad.

I enjoyed the game myself. The ending was anti-climatic but otherwise it was a good game imo.

60FPS was a mistake. 30FPS would satisfy the wall huggers.
PC version was a mess more so on AMD hardwares.[IMG][/IMG]

shove that right back up your ass, Carmack. You want to make it up, make rage 2 and do it fucking right. Period.
No thank you. I'll be gaming DRM free on a stronger console for $100 cheaper instead
Sony trolled MS. PS4 fans didn't do it. We just laughed at MS and anyone getting mad. $399 FTW!

Got this unopened in my backlog. The "anarchy edition", whatever that means. Picked it up from Amazon for like £7 few months back. Now I'm expecting a bad ending whenever I do end up playing it

I love Rage but still haven't finished it yet. Carmack is still one of the pioneers of the industry.

That edition comes with extra downloadables. One pack is a bunch of sewer missions and the other contains extra in-game items (a double barrel shotgun, spiked gloves for beating the hell out of things, the best armor available in the game and an extra vehicle which is pretty good in the earlier stages of the game befroe you get the REALLY good cars).
