ArenaNet has in the past confirmed that console versions of Guild Wars 2 were being investigated, and recently the PS3 and 360 versions of the upcoming MMORPG have appeared in a schedule for things to appear at gamescom 2012.

I'm curious, and doing some investigating for a potential PSU article. Are you guys excited by the prospect of a triple-AAA MMO, without subscription fees, coming to PS3?

EDITED, with more specific questions:

-Would you rather play Guild Wars 2 on PS3 (or X360) than PC?

-Are you buying GW2 at launch, or do you have any plans to purchase down the road?

-Would you be more incline to play if GW2 was entirely free-to-play, as opposed to one base price for the game but no subscription?

-Do you play any MMOs, like DCUO or Free Realms, on PS3?

-Do you play any MMOs on PC?

Having been in the beta and starting to play on August 25 on PC, the answer is 'yes'. I'd love to see it on PS3.

-Would rather have it on PC where the best experience will be but would definitely purchase and play on PS3.

-I've already purchased the game, did so several months ago and played in the beta weekends.

-Free2Play doesn't guarantee I'll even try a game. I like their current model just fine.

-Played DCUO on PS3 and PC. Didn't really enjoy it.

-Just recently stopped playing SWToR. Did enjoy my time with it, though.

I was hot into MMOs a few years back but not so much anymore. But having it on the PS3 would be fantastic, I'd definitely check it out as my PC is now quite old

PS3!

I put in A LOT of time into GW, GW2 would be day 1.

I prefer the current business model. I don't mind paying for such an awesome subless game.

I would love to play GW2 but I'm not really interested in buying a PC or gaming on a PC anymore so a console release would be ace.

Though I'm getting a new PC very shortly and if I can afford to make it a decent gaming one, I would probably play GW2 on that

I think it's great the PS3 is being utilize for what it can really do and that's be a platform for MMOs. I personally am only concerned for FFXIV, but GW2 certainlly looks decent. Tho I must admit, outside the FF MMOs I'm not an MMO gamer. The trailers for GW2 were fantastic tho, unlike what we first got with FFXIV.

GW2 is going to be huge.

I'd like to play on PC but don't have a machine capable of running it. Thus, I'd LOVE to have a real MMORPG on consoles, and by real I mean something to really dive into and not this DC Universe crap.

Where did you stumble across the hints for a console version?

I'd be more interested to play such a game on the Wii-U if I wasn't already buying it on PC.

The DS3 lacks the buttons to play a MMO especially with how many hot keys you use. The Wii-U controller could potentially fix that issue with the interface it has so if any non-PC platform stands the chance of successfully having a MMO, in my eyes, it's the Wii-U and not the PS360

AFAIK there aren't plans to do so but it would be the obvious choice for me

I will get it on the 360. While the controllers are limited compared to keyboard, I just despise PC gaming. Wii U might have better control but I am not buying another Wii.

Out of curiosity, what do you despise about PC gaming? I'm also no big fan, just wondering.

I only game on PC if I had to. But now it is even more difficult as my entire home is MAC. Gaming is limited on MAC.

None of my friends or family game on PC. All the games I enjoy are not on PC. I don't like keyboard and mouse gaming.

I think Guild Wars 2 coming to PS3 is a fantastic idea. We need some good MMORPG's, WoW isn't cutting it anymore and it's because of the overpriced subscription crap. I am glad a lot of people caught onto that bs.
